I bought a pair of the Kate urban with the leather sole from Valverde Botas. They arrived and not only are they uncomfortable they're massive on me! Now I have the pleasure of paying £18 to return them. Halloween Biscuit

I love these

Are they worth it? Comfortable? will last years? I'm sick of having cold feet and aching legs in winter from boots with no insulation or comfortable soles. I live in my boots right up until summer.

Any thoughts?

They don’t have insulation so I cannot see how they will keep you warm above other boots! The boots are leather lined so not warm in my view. Lovely though!

I would suggest the sheepskin lined boots or fur lined boots at House of Bruar. Not very fashionable but comfortable, built to last and warm. That will leave you with about £150 to spend on cheaper versions of the Penelope Chilvers boots which won’t be difficult to find!

The Penelope Chilvers " inclement weather" boots have a waterproof lining and a strip,of leather/ guard behind the zip to keep your feet dry.

Alwayscheerful · 13/11/2019 21:22

I think they're called inclement tassel. They are fab.
Fairfax and Favour also have also introduced a warm and waterproof pair of leather boots this year. Old stock is not water proof just water resistant.

The first pair have a thin sole and I imagine your feet will get very cold in them on frosty days.

The second pair will be as warm as any normal winter boots and at least have a trend for slippery days.

If you are plagued with cold feet you need keep looking.

I always buy winter boots a size up and put in a sheepskin insole, you get the best of both worlds that way. I have really cold feet, but find that purposefully cosy boots are often not the most stylish.

I've got a pair of Fairfax and favour explorer boots which I love and they are so warm! I've gone for a black pair from the Spanish Riding company. I hope these will be warm enough!

@QueenOfIce yes the explorers are fab boots, I have a dozen pairs Blushof Penelope Chilvers boots and the inclement tassel boots are the warmest, they are also my favourite pair, they come in short and medium height. I have the seaweed and conker colour.

QueenOfIce · 13/11/2019 22:24

I love the seaweed and conker thanks for the info @Alwayscheerful if the ones I've ordered don't work out I think I'll try the ankle boots.
