Help needed finding a bag

I would really like some help finding a small cross-body bag and I've seen the amazing sourcing skills of many of you on other threads Smile.

I am looking for something small that will hold my phone, bank card and a little cash. Most of what I've seen has been too big. I have seen some with wriststraps that are the right size but I want cross-body. I also prefer taller rather than wider but would consider a wider one if it was very nice.

So 7-8 inches high, 4-6 inches wide, 0.5-1 inch deep, strap rather than a chain, preferably leather. Black or tan. Budget is up to about £175.

Thanks in advance Smile

@HundredMilesAnHour - Quick question - you said you have the blue. Is it quite dark, bar the bright blue patches? It looks it from the pictures but as you have one, you'd be better placed to tell me.

The natural one looks a bit peachy. I don't suppose you have one in that colour too that you could more accurately describe the colour?

How about a preloved Mulberry Antony Messenger bag?

Have you looked at Cambridge Satchel Company? They do really beautiful bags, mostly, but not just, satchels. Have recently bought one and I absolutely love it.

HundredMilesAnHour · 14/11/2019 14:04

@whyamidoingthis I've tried to take photos of my bags to give you an idea but I do think the photos on Heio's website are very accurate for colour.

The blue bag is 3 colours - black, navy and brighter blue. It would work quite well with black as well as blue. My bag is brand new (only arrived on Mon) so hasn't been outside yet. Blush

The natural bag is what I would really consider to be natural. It doesn't strike me as peachy. My bag in the photo is a few years old and has had a lot of use but seems to be ageing well (unlike myself lol!) The sun had gone in when I took the photo (whereas it was shining brightly when I took the blue bag photo) so one of the panels on the bag looks darker than it is in real life.

Hope this helps a little.

I may have just bought the nude cube clutch from Heio. I'm blaming @chocolatesaltyballs22. She told me I needed more than one bag Grin. Plus I'm going to get a major bargain on black friday so will still be within budget...

I'll have a close look at all the recommended ones before black friday but I'm currently leaning towards the Kate Spade one eu.katespade.com/en-ie/handbags/romy-north-south-crossbody/PWRU7518.html?dwcolor=001#start=91. If that's reduced by 30% like they did last year, it will be down to €157. Add on the €70 for the Heio one, and I'm €27 over budget, which I can live with (the £175 in my original post was converted as I know most on mn are from UK).

If it's a bargain, you have to buy it - it's the law!

I'm a very law abiding person then 😁

Don’t forget if you’re with a cashback site it would be even less fun over budget !

I agree if something is a good price and you both need and love it then you’d regret not getting it.

SpeckledyHen · 14/11/2019 18:25

OP the Mulberry Anthony comes in 2 sizes - the smaller one is in line with the size you are looking for .

whyamidoingthis · 14/11/2019 18:33

@Goawayquickly - what's a cashback site? I'm in Ireland so not sure if they exist here?

OP posts:
whyamidoingthis · 14/11/2019 18:34

@SpeckledyHen - I'll have a look at that then as it is a lovely bag.

Cashback sites - I think you can use Topcashback and Quidco from Ireland, basically you sign up for an account then click their link to the retailer website and if you make a purchase you get a cash %

Normally you can’t combine it with a voucher code but I’ve had £600 over a couple of years, I had £120 for changing my broadband provider to someone cheaper. These are big well known sites, I don’t buy anything online without checking if they’re on a cashback site.

whyamidoingthis · 14/11/2019 20:57

@Goawayquickly - Thanks. I'll' check that out.

@whyamidoingthis oh, do. You have to wait a while for payouts but I even use them for booking restaurant tables- I get £1 just for booking a table at Harvester, it all adds up!

Just read back, love that cube bag! Ive actually bought from the exquisite site and been really pleased so would recommend. Roll on Black Friday for a bargain Kate Spade bag.

If Ireland is eligible there are some referral links in the Christmas bargain thread.

30% off Kate Spade for Black Friday. Just saying......

OP posts:
chocolatesaltyballs22 · 27/11/2019 10:47

Also, 20% off Aurora.

LuxuryWoman2018 · 27/11/2019 11:40

Coach sale is on too, I was hoping for another prairie satchel but they’re still £206 and I’m dithering.

whyamidoingthis · 30/11/2019 01:16

There's an extra 20%, on top of the 30% they're already reduced, on Kate Spade bags with the code Handbags20. So that works out at 44% off.
