Shopping outfit!

Hi all,

I am in a bit of a tizz and looking for some help. I am due to go bridesmaid shopping soon with my friend (the bride) and her other friends (the other bridesmaids) who I don’t know.

I am an overweight mother of 2. They are all slim non mothers. We are all mid-late 30s. I don’t have a clue what to wear! I just feel really anxious about it.

I was decided on a shirt dress, woollen tights and ankle boots. But then I see all the young fashionable people at work and they just wear ripped jeans and jumpers!! So maybe I’d look too try hard?? Help!!!!!

I'd go for something easy to pull on and off for trying on dresses. And great underwear - whatever you plan on wearing under the bridesmaid dress - so you can see how the dresses lie on you.

Honestly you will feel a lot less anxious about it if you just wear something you feel good in rather than as an attempt to look a certain way.

I would wear something that's easy to take on and off as there's a chance you may have to try things on throughout the day, so tights may not be the most practical.

But most importantly don't worry about your weight, you are there because you're a good friend to the bride and she wants you to be a bridesmaid, not because of how you look. I'm sure you'll look lovely in whatever you choose
