Boden clearance sales - worth the effort?

There's one near me for two days next week, I can only get there on day 2. Is it worth the effort? I'm imagining that anything decent will have gone by then..? I could possibly rearrange Dr's appt and go on day one but will it be super busy? And I guess there is no guarantee of there being any mini Boden there. (wanting to get some bits for 9mo baby)

There always seems to be so much new Boden on eBay, I'm guessing that's where it all comes from?

Where do you find out about them?

PoshNorthEssex · 11/11/2019 17:49

I've never not seen mini Boden stuff at them. And yes, I'd go on day 2. Have bought some fab bits and always bought ahead for my kids.

Info about dates and locations for this year here

I went a few times when my kids were very little. Got some very good bargains. Be there before it opens, or as early as you can.
They used to restock on the second day.

I’ve been twice. I go after the early rush on the first day (mid-morning) and there is plenty left. I was told by the staff that they don’t restock on day 2, but they do reorganise it all and put out the changing room stuff so there will still be some stock there. They had kids stuff. Just don’t expect to come away with loads, I got two dresses the first time and one pair of boots the second time. Very good prices.

Ooh where is this?

detachablehoof · 20/11/2019 15:32

@wingingwonder this was in Harrogate this week :)

I braved it today (day 2) and bought a dress for myself, and a jumper, t shirt and romper for my DD... total was £30.

It seemed to be a lot of samples / faulty items but the prices are really good. I reckon a lot of it is stuff which has been returned (some tags said "washed once and bobbled" etc) and they can't resell. There are also items which are seconds. There was loads of women's clothing but hardly any coats (which was what I wanted!), a decent selection of women's shoes, plenty of mini Boden (especially tiny sizes!) but not many kids shoes, and a small range of mens clothing.

I didn't find it too busy but that could have been because it was the second day? There was no queue to get in. It has a very jumble-saley feel to it - most stuff is piled in tubs on tabletop, only coats and jumpsuits were hung up. People seem to go round grabbing armfuls of whatever they can find in their size and then dumping what they don't want in corners of the room or in the large communal changing room, but there were loads of staff there reorganising stuff.

I don't reckon they restock on the second day, it wasn't particularly well stocked today. As @Northernlass99 says they are constantly reorganising so it doesn't end up in a total muddle! I did notice some huge boxes full of stock in the corners of the room so perhaps they were saving some stock to replenish in the afternoon?

TLDR; It was worth going, got a few bits for next to nothing, the atmosphere was nice, and I would go again :)
