Smaller band bra sizes - any shopping revs?

Pre baby I was wearing 30 b but that was never a perfect fit. Since stopping breastfeeding my boobs have shrunk and I have (unfortunately, not through choice) lost weight. Anyway no bra fits and I am wearing crappy bralettes out of desperation!
Booborbust calculator suggests I am really a 26DD, but will have to settle for a 28C.

Can anyone with similar small band size but larger cup size recommend wear to buy a bra from?

Thanks

Bravissimo. I do a special day trip every 18 months or so.

Debenhams also do decent bras and they tend to come up small in the band, but I think the fitting is better at Bravissimo so I’d go there first and then apply what you’ve learned in terms of sizes and styles that work for you to those on offer in Debenhams.

I wondered about Bravissimo but they don't sell small bands online. Maybe I should go there just to get measured.
Will look in Debenhams, thanks.

Bravissimo do 28 bands online (I’m wearing one right now!) and they are great at fitting. The ones in Debenhams that come up small are the Gorgeous range (own brand), I think.

dementedpixie · 11/11/2019 13:45

Sister size of 26DD is 28D not 28C

championquartz · 11/11/2019 14:17

Unfortunately the choice is pretty abysmal.
Agree with the others, Bravissimo is your best bet for fittings and a reasonable choice.
Figleaves is good but online only and the (many) returns are a total, complete pita.

I’m a 28E and can only wear plunge styles. My current favourite is cleo by panache koko plunge. I think it was bravissimo I tried it on but then ordered online in past season colours so it was cheaper.

Stumpedasatree · 11/11/2019 16:22

Can I ask if you're a 28 round rib cage, what dress size you are on top? I think I am that and I'm a 6-8.

SheShriekedShrilly · 11/11/2019 16:27

Stumped - I’m a 10, and not a small one, so I’d guess you’d be smaller than a 28 (if the manufacturers made them).

MoltenLasagne · 11/11/2019 16:32

Boux Avenue do some smaller bands and the bands tend to come up tight too but you really need to try as different styles vary massively.

Also H&M have some smaller band bras and some of the plunge styles seem to be a higher cup size than the label says so worth checking.

PurpleFrames · 11/11/2019 16:32

I just got remesured in Debenhams and went down to a 30 back size, they were fantastic had a lot of choice and have 28s available too. I recommend you let them do a bra fitting

handmademitlove · 11/11/2019 16:38

Strangely the m&s small sizes are actually smaller than they say they are - ie a "28" didn't fit my petite dd who was a 26. When I actually measured the band it was measuring a 24"... so my advice is to try them and see!

Elbbob · 11/11/2019 19:46

@Stumpedasatree I am a dress size 6-8 and when I measured myself earlier I am 26" round my ribs.

@dementedpixie thanks will try those too.

Thanks all for the suggestions sounds like I need to plan a day of bra shopping rather than ordering online.

28f here. It's a nightmare! Although I have had some luck in Debenhams the material used are not great. I'm off to Bravissimo soon in the next city.

MeadowHay · 11/11/2019 20:45

Bravissimo is by far the best. I'm a 28E. You can also sometimes get these types of sizes from Debenhams, Figleaves, Boux Avenue and Brastop.

ConFusion360 · 11/11/2019 21:10

I would advise ordering online. I'm a 28FF/G and just go to Bravissimo. They do have a good choice.

GrumpyHoonMain · 11/11/2019 21:12

Any of the Victoria’s Secrets brands should work.

ThePolishWombat · 11/11/2019 21:12

I’m a 28DD (before I was breastfeeding) and always found Boux Avenue the best fit for me

CarolineForbes · 11/11/2019 22:33

I find the brand Freya (found I’m Bravissimo and Debenhams) comes up small in the band so you might get away with their 28

SheShriekedShrilly · 11/11/2019 23:21

I agree, Freya and Fantasie (same brand but aimed at different markets) come up a bit narrower and are by far the best fit for me, as a 28G. But that’s partly shape (needing shallow wires to avoid being stabbed under the armpit) and only partly back size. If you have narrower set breasts and want the wire higher under your armpits, then you’d look at Panache bras. There are some experts on here who can help with shape and likely-to-fit brands, if you want (I’m not one of them, but they usually spot bra threads).
