Tux for a black tie event?

Is it mad to consider a female tux for a black tie event?

Fed up of dresses and being cold! I was thinking a nice fitted one with a little cami underneath?

No! I love them. Why not?

BeatriceTheBeast · 10/11/2019 22:04

As in, no, not mad Halloween Smile.

Guess I’d possibly feel a little self conscious- I just really like the idea of not having to worry so much and being warm!

I did just this recently. Huge hair, lashings of eye makeup and nude lips. Or bare minimum eyes and red lips. Not both.

Oh sounds good @PalindromicUser

Where did you get it from?

Sounds utterly lush!!! Go for it!

Stunning. Love that look.

@Boredofblueskythinking Zara. But there are quite a few around at the moment.

Boredofblueskythinking · 11/11/2019 17:39

Picked one up from Zara too- not quite sure if the fit is right- what top did you have underneath??

Reminds me of Cara Delevingne outfit to Princess Eugenie's wedding. Probably my favourite outfit in the history of wedding outfits!

PalindromicUser · 11/11/2019 21:20

@Boredofblueskythinking a silky cami thing. Mine was from H&M.

Two women at my work wore a tux at last year’s Christmas Party - both looked fab!

Boredofblueskythinking · 13/11/2019 19:11

@BlackCatsRule88 ooh did they! Full shirts?

Hmmm, it was a year ago so I can’t quite remember, but I think it was trousers, jacket, a silky top and stilettos. The other is quite a Tom boy so I think had chunky brogues and a shirt. They both looked just as stylish etc as any of the women in dresses. In the industry I work in (creative/male dominated) I’ve noticed that more and more women are opting for the tux look at awards dinners that are often black tie dress codes.
