Jewel headbands

Is it appropriate for a lady , say 50’s ,to wear a jewelled headband with a very plain dress and no other jewellery to a party ? I hate being mutton dressed as lamb and I did wear headbands in the 80’s first time round .

Of course it is! Wear it, smile and rock it and have a fabulous time. Please put a link here for it too!

Also, that awful phase is an example of our historic society that made it ok For women to put other women down.

I was umming about buying leopard print one in Accessorize and ended up asking the assistant if she though 40 was too old to wear one. She laughed and said she'd sold them to all ages and they looked fab.

You're never too old to wear whatever the hell you want. Mutton dressed as lamb is such an awful sexist phrase. That said, I think headbands are bloody awful things that wannabe debs wear who think they're Kate oosits, so it's a no from me but clearly that's just mvho.

I love Kate M’s headbands - really big ones - so elegant!

Another lady in her fifties and an admirer of Kate. Unsure but tempted to try. To Zara we go! What the heck.
