Teen boy coats

Can anyone tell me what coats their teen Ds is wearing this winter?

I know that many don't wear coats but I'm paranoid of a Beast from the East sort of situation happening so need some sort of coat for him. At home he's constantly complaining about being cold and is wrapped in blankets while gaming but hasn't worn a coat this school year like his older brother at that age who only wore gloves and a scarf even in snow.

Normally he's not that bothered by clothes but he's being oddly fussy this time with respect to brands. He walks to school so I can't see what his friends wear. Can anyone advise so I can ask His Highness what floats his boat?

ds wears a coat like this, and most his friends have a similar one from there or from here depending on sizing

Now he's a teen he seems to prefer black in the past it's been brighter coloured

He's also got a black wool coat for best

A plain black puffer type jacket. Any brand from JD or foot asylum.

Yes same with mine. He has asked for a North Face version for Christmas.
