Salicylic acid/niacinimide doesn’t seem to be doing much.

Sporners corner?

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 07/11/2019 22:21

Pixie glow tonic works for me.

MrsHardbroom · 07/11/2019 22:26

Retinol from The Ordinary. And going on the pill.

What products are you using on your hair? Took me ages to realize that they were causing mine. (It was Moroccan Oil in my case.) Massive, painful zits - gone once I binned the product. I realized that the zits were all around where my hair hit - this may or may not be the case for you.
I have found the neogen lemon peeling pads which have salicylic acid (and other stuff) in them have worked miracles on my stubborn pores. (They’re also massive, so I cut them in half, and I end up soaking up the “juice” with at least 20 more cotton rounds, so got more than twice as many uses than it says on the pack.) I know the Stridex & clearasil berry and cucumber ones are quite good too, but not as effective.

I found certain conditioners gave me awful back, neck and shoulder spots. Maybe that is causing them. I changed to a citrus/grapefruit one and dont keep getting them now.

ARoombaOfOnesOwn · 08/11/2019 13:39

I never thought about hair products! Great tip, I’ll switch around conditioners etc.

Op - I find any hair serums with silicone are the absolute worst offenders, btw

Grafittiqueen · 08/11/2019 22:16

Interesting. I wonder if my horrible spots coincide with when I use silicon hair serum. Will stop using it for a while and see if things improve.

Sudocrem

It's magic

torthecatlady · 08/11/2019 22:32

@peonypower Yes! I second sudocrem! A work colleague told me to use it overnight and it's brilliant.

mendokusai · 08/11/2019 22:34

does sudocream work on those great massive horrid neck spots that don't break the skin?

torthecatlady · 08/11/2019 23:22

@mendokusai I find that they actually help bring the spot out for squeezing

Terriergrrrrrrrr · 09/11/2019 10:39

Moroccan Oil gave me lovely hair and awful cystic acne around the jaw and neck. I used salicylic acid but it still took a few months to clear. I stick to Revlon hair stuff now as it doesn't cause me problems.

Fluffycloudland77 · 09/11/2019 16:14

Go to the drs, spots shouldn’t be huge.

milienhaus · 09/11/2019 16:19

I second Pixi Glow Tonic - made a big difference to my skin.
