Literally as the title says what do you think to this outfit?

It's really nice as casual daywear but I wouldn't wear it for an event or anywhere fancy. Maybe an evening at the theatre at a push.

Goldenchildsmum · 07/11/2019 16:28

Might it look better shorter with heels? If you want something dressier?

schmalex · 07/11/2019 16:29

I think it needs some accessories. It looks very simple/plain as it is.

SissySpacekAteMyHamster · 07/11/2019 16:29

Not with those shoes

Wildorchidz · 07/11/2019 16:30

Not a fan. Sorry

HyperemesisandPND · 07/11/2019 16:33

I was specifically looking for fairly casual so I'm pleased to read that sweetheart. I considered shortening with heels but I really dont want it to be too fancy as it's for a pub lunch type meal.
What kind of accessories schmalex?

I think it's a bit drab to be honest. I don't think the dress goes with the boots particularly well. You have a great figure though.

wowfudge · 07/11/2019 16:35

Lovely colour. A shorter length would be more flattering on you. I'd wear different shoes and because it's clingy you can see the top line of your bra or vest top so maybe rethink your underwear?

onetimeonlyy · 07/11/2019 16:37

I would wear a chunky knitwear and a statement gold necklace. I like the length and shoes!

Velveteenfruitbowl · 07/11/2019 16:37

The solid black tights don’t work. I would opt for opaque ones.

Wingingwomble · 07/11/2019 16:39

What about following the current trend of a square jumper over the dress? It's not hugely flattering as it is. You are lovely and slim but the dress highlights every bump and imperfection. Spankz tights might smooth it out.

The boots really don't go with it. I prefer the long boots in your previous post.

HyperemesisandPND · 07/11/2019 16:44

Why would I need spanx? I dont really have any fat on me to smooth out. I could see the bra line but figured as I'm just trying out the general look that's something to address after. I have other bras I can try.
I wasnt happy with the solid tights either and was considering trying a more sheer black.

I love my long boots but when I tried the dress shorter with them it felt very bland and generic and like outfits I've worn so many times before. I would like the midi dress look to work if possible as it's a fresh look for me.

The dress is lovely. You have a great figure and it's a lovely colour. I don;t think the boots work well and also wouldn;t put opaque black tights with it. I'd be inclined to choose knee boots or coloured/sparkle tights and ankle boots in a colour that works with the dress.

I'd accessorise it with a chunky metal bracelet or cuff and a long pendant like some of the ones shown here

A bike jacket would look great over the top.

fantasmasgoria1 · 07/11/2019 16:46

You definitely don't need spanx. You are nice and slim and outfit is perfect for where you are going.

picklemepopcorn · 07/11/2019 16:48

Speaking as someone who wishes she were your shape, it's a bit uninteresting. You have nothing to hide and could wear absolutely anything (unlike me).

Can you break up the line a bit? A chain belt, or long knotted necklace?

Tortoiser · 07/11/2019 16:49

Still think it looks best with trainers as per the other post!

Tortoiser · 07/11/2019 16:50

Trainers and a big woolly black jumper, or a biker jacket, or a flying jacket. (There was a top shop one linked here recently)

Everydaylife · 07/11/2019 16:53

I dont think it goes with those boots at all sorry.

Wingingwomble · 07/11/2019 16:54

Post a picture from the side. I think the dress makes you look like you have more tummy than you do, it's so tight. As you are slim everywhere else your time is highlighted, Spanx would help this. I have the same issue since having a baby, it's more pronounced when you are slim around the ribs.

I think like this would look more current

Wingingwomble · 07/11/2019 16:56

Tummy not time

Expressedways · 07/11/2019 16:58

You have a great figure but the dress looks like it’s too small or it’s a very thin cheap fabric, I can’t work out which. The seam of your tights sticks out as does the line of whatever you’re wearing underneath on top (is it a vest top?). I think this why PP are suggesting Spanx as they would be smooth, not because you need fat squishing down because you clearly don’t! So sorry but not a fan.

lotsofstripes · 07/11/2019 16:59

I think it’s perfect for a pub lunch OP, no point going out and buying loads of new stuff when you’ve got a perfectly good outfit. Only think I’d agree with is thinner tights. Agree that leather jacket would look nice

sweetheart · 07/11/2019 16:59

hooray - I think it's perfect for a pub lunch. I do agree with other though - the boots don't go and it's nice and plain (fab colour) so you can afford to spice things up with a statement necklace or braclet and a biker or denim jacket and seeing as it's winter a statement scalf (leopard print would look amazing with that dress and a leather jacket)
