It is very warm. I have had mine for about 5 years now and it still looks new. I live by the coast and it keeps me warm and dry in torrential rain and gale force winds.

bestbefore · 07/11/2019 14:52

I have had one for years and swear by it....wish it hadn't lasted as long TBH as I would like another colour!
It is very warm. Quite thick but lovely.
Def recommend

Too warm for ne

CouldBeOuting · 07/11/2019 15:42

I’ve got one of those ... it’s a lovely coat. Very warm but not heavy.

chasingseagulls · 07/11/2019 17:08

I've had mine for around ten years and it is still good as new. I would recommend paying for a professional clean every couple of seasons (not a dry clean, but dry cleaners who will also do a wash in a large drum washer. Makes such a difference, I know so many people who have ruined down filled coats by not tumble drying and sorting the filling out properly, and its quite laborious)

Last year I stood in a queue admiring the coat of the lady in front...before realising it was the exact same coat but without the faux fur hood trim. I went straight home and took mine off and it has transformed it. Don't know about newer versions, but the fur on mine was always a bit cheap looking even when new, and you don't really need it when it's not snowing anyway.

CatUnderTheStairs · 07/11/2019 17:11

OOh that's all good thank you. I've had a North FAce Triclimatte Suzanne for 5 years and it's now starting to show it's age. But I don't like the new colours for it.

But I loved how warm it was and properly waterproof and breathable. Willing to shell out as I walk to work in the north west and it's very wet and frequently freezing.

Dare I ask how much it is it sounds just what I'm after too.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 07/11/2019 17:32

It’s £360 in John Lewis but I’m sure you can find it cheaper online....

Dowser · 07/11/2019 17:36

I’ve asked my husband for a mega warm coat for Christmas that will protect me from cold north east winds, look a bit stylish
Waterproof, wind proof
Lightweight
Is this my coat
Currently wearing a regatta coat with a primark thin jacket and jumper underneath... in a restaurant

alwaysgoodenough · 07/11/2019 17:41

I wore mine today. I'm in the northwest and walk a lot. It was toasty.
I got mine in Cheshire Oaks Outlet village for £180. Its navy blue.

Lovemenorca · 07/11/2019 17:45

One of my best buys ever

Softpebbles · 07/11/2019 20:19

Best purchase ever. Think mines on its fourth or fifth winter. Still looks great. Toasty warm. 😊

shitpark · 08/11/2019 00:12

I have one, haven't worn it yet this year, I only wear it as temperatures dip below 5 centigrade. I took it out and tried it on today and quickly got too hot in it. It is very warm

Ginkythefangedhellpigofdoom · 08/11/2019 01:49

What's the size like on it specifically belly and boob room Blush

CatUnderTheStairs · 08/11/2019 06:17

Fairly generous sizing. In a 14/16 wobbly and medium is a good fit. No Tom got a jumper but you don’t need one.

Thanks cat

Well merry Christmas to me
Dh bought me mine for Christmas
£216 at north face
I feel fashion went out of the window but I want to be warm

Mitsouko67 · 10/11/2019 15:27

Have one for many years. Agree better minus fur. Mine needs the dry cleaners but it's doing fine. I have the grey which I like.

Mitsouko67 · 10/11/2019 15:28

To answer your question - very warm.

BuggerOffAndGoodDayToYou · 10/11/2019 15:54

I agree with others, I’ve taken the fur off mine as well. I do put it back on if I am walking in snow as it helps keep it off my face.

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 10/11/2019 15:58

Try the kids section - I have a boys xxl north face coat (I’m not exactly tiny) and the only difference between this and the adult version is a slightly larger logo and a name tag inside (not exactly unhelpful either!).

The cost was £110 less and the quality is the same.

Whitejotter · 10/11/2019 16:39

I have it too - think it must be 8 years old - it gets thoroughly abused - covered in mud, dog sleeps on it sometimes when we're out - it gets chucked in the washing machine and dried in the tumble dryer with a couple of tennis balls and it looks as good as new - a real workhorse of a coat - I don't know how I cope with dog walking in the winter without it - dh bought the man's version too!

HighRopes · 10/11/2019 16:45

I’ve had one for over ten years, and it’s only just got a bit thin and not as warm. I’m replacing it with a different brand partly because of the price and partly because I’m a bit bored of it by now!
