What would you wear under this top?

I don't think a vest would look or fit right with it but I'm not sure what else I could wear under it?
Do I just need to make sure I'm wearing a nice bra???

What would you wear under this top?

Nude vest maybe? Thin strappy one. Lovely top.

Lhastingsmua · 06/11/2019 22:29

The model is wearing a backless/strapless stick on bra

You could also try nipple covers

Tableclothing · 06/11/2019 22:33

I'd go for a cream cami vest under that. I may be an old fart but I don't like visible underwear.

strawbebbies · 06/11/2019 23:00

Found a strappy crop top while hunting for a nude vest. It's black but I think if I can get one in nude it would be perfect.

Pre kids I would have just worn a nice lacy bralet under it (like the kind that goes down over your ribs and doesn't look too underweary) but I can't get any to fit now Sad
Nipple covers and stick on bras are out for the same reason.

Primark has a great range of cami tops, they are cheap enough to play around with different textures and colours.

CravingCheese · 06/11/2019 23:23

Nude could work. Or something very obvious underneath....

If you do wear something nude I'd make sure that the bra and vest straps aren't visible.

It's a really pretty top imo.

StarlightLady · 07/11/2019 04:19

I would just wear a bra in a colour that doesn't “shout” at you, but doesn’t look as if you are unsuccessfully trying to hide it either. It’s mirror/try on time. Maybe go for a pretty peach or a pink. This sounds daft, but I’d also try red. The combination of the white can “dilute” a red enough to get a subtle balance.

I think a vest or cami would spoil the impact.

I’d also have to take wipes with me. But that’s because I’m bound to get a food or drink blob down it.

Fuckenstein · 07/11/2019 07:28

I think nipple covers would work best but understand why you wouldn't want to (I woukdnt either)

A nude cami with very thin straps and a strapless bra would work but does it have a V neckline?

Fuckenstein · 07/11/2019 07:29

Just checked and it does. I don't think it would look great with a straight line cutting across higher than the V to be honest.

AfterSomeAdvice1234 · 07/11/2019 07:32

M&S did a nude lacy crop top thing last year that was great - I got it in blue too! They might still have it

Bluntness100 · 07/11/2019 07:38

I have a nude tight fitting vest I wear under clothes that are transparent or Lacey. It's hardly detectable and makes them more modest/comfortable. I've always thought showing your underwear is a bit tacky though. The vest gives the same look, where you can see the shape of your figure and the top maintains its look, but without the here's my bra thing going on.

StarlightLady · 07/11/2019 07:54

We are all different. I think with a pretty bra it’s not a problem. If your bra shows it just means you are wearing a bra. Many of is regularly have ‘bra bumps” under clothing anyway. A greying bra is another matter of course. Wear a bra too good to hide.

So called “nude vests” etc, look like a poor attempt to hide in my view and spoil the line of the top.

CravingCheese · 07/11/2019 08:16

I personally would probably wear this with a strapless bra and a very obvious top underneath. Light blue top and navy blue on the bottom, for example. (or maybe with red instead? Idk)

But it's really difficult to tell whether what anyone of us is talking about would work without simply trying it on in person...

StrawberryPi · 07/11/2019 08:26

@strawbebbies have you tried the m&d lace bralets? They are super comfy and come in a larger-cup-size version too.

strawbebbies · 07/11/2019 11:23

Thanks for all the suggestions.
I think I'm going to have to have a bit of a personal fashion show once it arrives

@StrawberryPi
They look lovely but none of them that go up to my cup size go down to my band size.

OP posts:
StrawberryPi · 07/11/2019 11:27

@strawbebbies they come in dress sizes not band size, and the DD+ ones go down to a size 6 I think. What size are you and we can have a hunt Smile

spinningpenguin · 07/11/2019 11:27

Perhaps strapless and backless corset in white or nude?

Lhastingsmua · 07/11/2019 23:25

In that case, I think a silk/satin cami or bodysuit might work in a cream shade. With a v neckline and skinny straps. The satin material look better under that top.
