Hair Masks - do they work?

Me - menopausal. Still have lots of hair, hasn't thinned. Natural straight blond on top, bottom layers, darker natural blonde but coarser. The darker under layers are starting to show grey. Not a problem, but the coarse hair is now a lot coarser. It makes hair styling difficult. It pokes out sometimes through the top layers. Flyaways are now worse too.

I think I need to use a heavier conditioner, but a lot of them weigh down the top layers so the top looks lank. I have started to use an Aussie 3 Minute Miracle for a few times, and it temporarily helps. I am going to use it more regularly, even just as a regular conditioner.

Is there a better mask out there? One that improves without weighing down? And has anybody used a mask very regularly which has markedly improved the hair?

I use 3 Minute Miracle as a regular conditioner on my damaged, lightened hair, but I also use some very thin, cheap conditioner on it once I'm out of the shower and it's still soaking wet. Then, after I've blotted it dry, I put some hair oil on it too. Sounds like overkill, but it gets full of static otherwise.

I love the coco and eve hair mask, it really smooths out my thick hair. After using it I normally don’t have to straighten my hair.

The Hask hair masks (particularly the Keratin and Monoi + Coconut ones) are brilliant, they make a huge difference. The Monoi one smells amazing too.

I always run L'Oreal's Extraordinary Oil through my damp hair after getting out of the shower too, and my hair is always silky, shiny and swishy, despite being bleached and toned every four weeks Smile

I have ordered a couple of the Hask ones. Like the look of the other suggestion, and have logged it, but it is expensive so will try the cheaper ones first.

I like Maui conditioner for regular washes then use Kiehl's Olive fruit oil pak as a mask fortnightly.
I have long thick hair with greys that are coarser.
