Coat - tight fitting v slightly loose

Just ordered a coat in two sizes. It’s a fake fur coat, so a boxy shale rather than clinched at the waist. The smaller size, which is probably my size, fits me but feels a bit restricted in the shoulders if I am wearing a jumper with it. The larger size is more roomy. I don’t know which size to go for...

Larger, always. IMO tight fitting looks uncomfortable and often 'cheapens' a garment.

Thank you Thedevil - that’s what I thought too...

Fur coats look better slightly larger.

Larger. I have two that are massive, coats always look better bigger

Thanks for asking the same question I have also been pondering over @Notcontent. In the exact same dilemma with an olive coloured wool maxi coat (albeit I'm shorter than the average at 5ft2!) - I'm leaning more toward the roomier one for comfort but still torn at the moment as the smaller one probably frames me better (and would always wear it undone) although I think it might be snug across the shoulders.

Larger. I have very few coats or jackets in my "normal size"
