Repairing a stretched ear piercing - HELP

One of my ear piercings has gradually stretched so much that even a small stud has dropped quite close to the bottom of my lobe. I currently use a medical tape and pop a little bit behind the hole to keep my earring from slipping down. Not sure why it's happened but I tend to sleep on that side, so ?
But I'd rather fix it permanently so wondered if cosmetic surgery is the only answer - and where would I go ? I live in Berkshire. Or do I let the hole close on it's own and re-pierce when closed over. But this would take ages I think.
Has anyone ever suffered a stretch ear piercing hole and had it corrected ? It's not horrendous but I am very conscious of it as it doesn't look even with the other earring.
