Looking for a nice watch

I would be very grateful for some MN expertise as I am being v indecisive.

I have a significant birthday coming up and have been given a £200 budget (which I could top up a little if needed) to get myself a lovely watch as a gift from family.

I'm looking for something out of the ordinary. Maybe from an independent seller? So far I quite like Olivia Burton watches.

Things I like:
Purple (also blues and greens)
Either strikingly plain or highly patterned things (lile florals)
Unusual designs

Things I don't like:
Lots of crystals (a few is fine)
Overly delicate jewellery
Yellow gold

I would love to see any ideas! Thanks in advance.

What about Vivienne Westwood?

I love citizen eco drive watches. Some really nice styles and they last forever. No need to buy batteries. You should get one for your budget.

The Mr Jones watches are cool but speaking for myself I would get bored with such quirky faces quite quickly. Classic is better with watches in my view

What about Mondaine?

I'm usually quite wary of 'designer' watches - if they go wrong you are unlikely to be able to fix them cheaply or at all. A lot are considered more or less disposable, the movements are not designed for longevity etc.

I have an Olivia Burton Bee watch and whilst I do absolutely love it, and it is frequently commented upon.. I don't think it was worth the price, and not sure I would buy another.

Within less than a year the hands broke, but apparently the warranty didn't cover that So we would have to send it off, pay for
postage ourselves & then it would be about £55 for repair...
Took it to a local jewellers who fixed it for a fiver!

I think it's very telling that they don't have reviews or visitor posts enabled on their Facebook page..

Just a word of warning. It is such a shame though as it is a lovely looking watch.

I have an Olivia Burton watch and I don't think it's very good quality. Mine has a pale grey leather strap that started to look tatty after only a few wears and I have a sedentary office job.

I was also just coming on here to warn about Olivia Burton watches. Really poor quality. The numbers fell off the face of mine within the year (also not covered under warranty apparently ) and it continually lost time, about 10 mins every 2-3 days. Cheap tat with pretty designs basically I'm afraid!

Got a nice red Mondaine at the weekend. I think it looks smart. Haven't worn it yet.

I do like that Storm watch.

I think I'm going to wait for Black Friday deals on smart watches to see if thats worth it and if not, choose from suggestions!

I bought one of these years ago in Positano.
Not very popular outside Italy so you’ll be likely wearing something that few others in the UK have.
Quality is very good btw.

I think you could get an Armani watch for this money. They are excellent. I have an every day Fossil watch and you might get one in their sale. Olivia Burton are just fashion watches. Try and go for a well made timepiece.
