Ds4 wants long hair. How do I

Make the transition from short back and sides to long?
I know it will take ages but he wants hair like thor. Do I just need to weather the storm of the in between stage? Is there anything that I can do to manage it better during that time?

I don’t think there’s much more you can do than let it grow! Time to grow will vary and he will probably have changed his mind by the time it gets long enough!

Hair extensions? A wig?

Did this have the hat with thunderbolts on it?

I think his desire stems as much from not wanting to have to sit and have it cut every few weeks as much as looking like thor 😂

But yes probably going to have to just deal with it looking a mess for a while

I am currently growing out a short haircut, so I can sympathise! And, I mean, who wouldn't want to look like Thor?

I'd pretty much let it grow, but get the back trimmed. I have found the bit at the back, at the nape of my neck is the bit which needs a frequent trim. Obviously, it's the lowest down part, so the rest of my hair is having to catch up to get to napa length iyswim?

The front might start to go in his eyes as well, so maybe you could clip that back a bit.

Ah thank you, I'll keep an eye on the bank and keep that trimmed :)

Yes, I've found, if the back gets too long, it looks like a mullet😂. Front for business, back for party Halloween Grin.

My ds10 has long hair, and always has had except when he was 7 being fed up of misgendering had a short back & sides...which imo looked lovely, but he hated it and grew ut straight back.
I think his hair grew loads faster than mine, but yes he just put up with the in between stage. Within 6 months he could get it in a tiny bun...other boys with long hair do wear headbands. Quite a lot of footballers do so he might go for that? (Mine would not, he cosplays as young Thor now tho )
