Does anyone have a Dyson Airwrap?

I'd love to hear people's experiences of them. They are such a lot of money but look really good - so are they worth it?

I have thick unruly hair which likes to do its own thing (random curls and waves) and is very frizz prone. Straighteners and hair curlers can style my hair on their hottest setting but it never stays more than half a day. The only way my hair seems to stay how it is styled, is if it's dried that way - hence thinking Dyson Airwrap might be the fastest way to get my hair curled and hopefully it'll then hold.

It's amazing. I find the curls don't drop if you: start with hair very damp and use plenty of styling spray on each strand before you wrap it (I like John Frieda Dream Curls); force yourself to cool shot every curl for about 10 seconds before releasing the barrel; let the curls settle for 5 mins before doing any final styling.

It hasn't worked well for me.

My hair might not be long enough. It's really quite curly on its own, but tends to frizz, or just go wavy the second day.

The hair dryer part worked OK (but I already had one of those) with the brush to make it smoother and shinier, which is good, but I couldn't figure out how to get nice curls. It was just a straightener really. It then didn't allow my natural curls to come through - what I'd like would be curls, but smooth and shiny, and I couldn't figure out how. Maybe the curl barrels would have worked better on longer hair or something. I used the cool shot, and I tried it from wet/damp, but still no luck. I perhaps should have tried a demo in the shop first.

I have very fine hair and my curls from the air wrap do last a long while if I don't touch them once Ive curled them. With hairspray they last easily into the next day. I do love mine. Great for drying my 3 year olds hair too and she will even sit and let me do it with out having to watch my phone

I love mine but the curls drop before I've even left the house, which is so annoying. I do it from damp, use plenty of product and cool shot it aswell but nothing I've tried makes it last.

I've just looked on Facebook marketplace and I've seen some secondhand ones. I'm tempted but will ask for a demo to see it works.

I was desperate to get my hands on an Airwrap at the beginning of the year, and waited for weeks for it to come into stock, but I can't seem to get the hang of it.
My hair is very thick, as I have two rows of extensions in.
I had hoped that the Airwrap would make me less of a slave to the salon, but it hasn't worked out that way so far.
