Velvet midi skirt for daytime

This skirt arrived today from ASOS and I really like it, not cheap looking or too shiny like some velvet skirts. I love the idea of velvet for daytime but not sure whether I can pull it off. I like the black polo neck the model is wearing, perhaps with boots and a black biker jacket.

I would really appreciate any other ideas on how to style for daytime, or should I stick to eveningwear?

Thank you! I wasn’t sure whether it would be as nice IRL but is definitely looks more expensive than it is. It’s one of those things I wanted for ages but not I have it I’m not quite sure what to do with it.

No reason whatsoever why it cant be worn with a knit on top and boots like the model for daywear. It looks a heavy weight too. I really cannot see why not.
