Can 40ish curvy women wear them?

Yes of course. There are lots of different styles and lengths.
Tu at Sainsbury's has a selection.

greenflamingo · 31/10/2019 17:22

Yes.

MangoSalsa · 31/10/2019 17:24

Yes.

Chewbecca · 31/10/2019 17:37

I would love to but they look dreadful on me in real life.

nmc99 · 31/10/2019 17:38

I've bought two but every time I put them on I question myself!

Try a different style. Some are a bit more sundressy, some more dungaree like, some more fitted. Companies like Toast do some really nice ones.

Maybe you just feel self-conscious because they are different to what you normally wear.

If you don't feel comfortable in them, take them back or sell them.

I would love to wear a pinafore dress, but my shape has gone beyond curvy into stately galleon. I'm afraid of looking ridiculous, with a curtain dropping down from my boobs like one of those sink skirts. Does anyone honestly think it could work?

MikeUniformMike · 31/10/2019 19:16

Yes. You need one that is shaped a little so that it goes in at the waist.
Not a straight up and down or bib'n'brace one.

This one is nice

Toast have lovely pinafore dresses in dark denim and black. They are very flattering, I'm late 50s . . .😎

MikeUniformMike · 31/10/2019 19:25

I've got a nice one from Mango with a side zip and it looks quite dressy.

Zinnia · 31/10/2019 20:47

Toast ones are £££ but if they suit you, keep your eye on eBay.

JumpyLiz · 31/10/2019 20:50

My problem is my sizeable arse lifts the back hem a good 3 inches higher than the front, unless the straps are adjustable.

Oldraver · 31/10/2019 21:04

I bought this Joe Browns in green. It's quite fitted and comes up high under the arms which I prefer

I had a denim one previously but got lots of side boob

nmc99 · 31/10/2019 21:14

I find side boob a problem in the ones I have 🧐

BarrenFieldofFucks · 31/10/2019 21:40

Seasalt had a few.

outherealone · 01/11/2019 10:04

I’m curvy 40s and I love them. Was also wearing them as a teen tho so possibly
deluded GrinHmm

SummerSummerShine · 01/11/2019 13:49

I've got this one from Dorothy Perkins. I'm quite curvy but this one is okay - much better than some I've tried and no side boobage (love that term!)

MikeUniformMike · 01/11/2019 14:27

That one is nice Summer

NancyEspana · 01/11/2019 15:14

Yes! I'm (very nearly) 36 and I have two. I have just ordered another one. I also have dungarees. I am a size 16ish.
