What makeup item have you used for years and years, that still works for you?

Mine's the Body Shop black liquid eyeliner. It's the one item I've worn every single day for years, I think since the 90s or early noughties at least! I love it because it's a felt pen-type of nib so easy to draw a line with (can do it in seconds) and it when it dries it stays BLACK, not turns grey or anything like others do.

I know there are others to experiment with, but if it ain't broke etc... Smile what's yours?

Nivea eye makeup remover. Have been using it since I was 17, I’m now 43.

Mac scarlet blusher. It's bright red in the pan but goes on (sparingly!) the exact colour my cheeks go when I blush, so it looks really natural.

A little goes a very very long way so I am literally using the same one I got about five years ago!

Mac quarry eyeshadow, 21 years and counting. I brush it through my brows as well as using it on my eyes.

Rimmel Hide The Blemish - formerly Hide n Heal .
Best maximum concealer ever .

SpeckledyHen · 01/11/2019 06:13

Forgot to say over 50 years .

gaggiagirl · 01/11/2019 06:19

W7 liquid eyeliner. Used it for years. It doesn't budge.

Bobthefisherghoulswife · 01/11/2019 06:23

Rimmel stay matte power.

Fatted · 01/11/2019 06:26

Revlon colour stay foundation. I've used it for 10 years. I try others but always go back. Same with Loreal telescopic mascara. Although it looks like it's now being discontinued and I have fallen in love with the soap and Glory mascara.

I do generally tend to gradually change my products over the years as they change and my skin, tastes and lifestyle change. The product I've used for the longest (18 years now) is Boots Curl Creme. I actually dread to think what will happen if it's discontinued. I'll just have to shave my head bald or straighten my hair to death.

Oh and MAC Lust lipglass. Was my first MAC purchase 15 years ago at Brown Thomas in Dublin. Perfect MLBB colour, have repurchased it for years.

ChardonnaysDistantCousin · 01/11/2019 06:30

NARS Multiple in Palm Beach.

They don't make it and I've had mine for years, and it's not even nea finishing, it gives you bronzed glow. Very Meghan -esque.

Greyhound22 · 01/11/2019 07:26

NARS Orgasm Blusher.

Rimmel Eyebrow Pencil in Hazel.

Rimmel Hide the Blemish.

Maybelline Big Lash Mascara.

XXcstatic · 01/11/2019 07:38

Another vote for Rimmel Hide the Blemish- it's not for under eyes (too thick), but it's amazing for zits etc and blends beautifully.

Have been using for 35 years.

Deathraystare · 01/11/2019 08:09

Avon Glimmersticks for eyeliner. I do sometimes wear liquid but I tend to get it in my eyes! I am very klutzy and cannot see that well without my glasses. I tried using some 'make up' glasses but they still got in the way!

I love the different colours and have just ordered some more! I seem to have very little definition anywhere now that I am old(ish) very little brow and my lashes are non -descript so I feel I should use liner and mascara .

Ratonastick · 01/11/2019 09:29

Clinique black honey lipstick. I’ve been using it on and off for over 20 years. I try loads of others but always en duo going back to it.

Jedstre · 01/11/2019 09:37

Bobbi Brown lip gloss in Buff. The best natural, easy to wear, looks like my lips but better shade.

JoanBonJovi · 01/11/2019 09:58

Do you not find orgasm too glittery? I binned it for that reason

SapphireSeptember · 01/11/2019 11:00

Revlon's Va Va Violet lipstick, I got my first one ten years ago and keep buying more. It's just a nice vampy dark purple. (I do love Revlon lipsticks, they're amazing!)

Barry M nail polishes are always good too. I've been using those since I was 15.
