Hello X
Hope someone can help me out X

I am after a maxi coat from asos, I'm wondering if anyone knows how there sizing is?? Do they Run small or large?? I'm a size 8 but not quite sure order a 6? As the coat is long and do not want it to drown me...

Please any help be appreciated 😂
( Have used the size help on the website it's just more confusing)

Xx

They have a fit assistant tool on their website which I find useful but I do order frequently from asos and find their sizes true to size. Depends also if you want a true fit or slightly loose to layer underneath.

I've had a mixed bag with Asos tbh, but YY they do have a fit assist feature on there, which is quite helpful. I've had some things which are surprisingly small and others which are surprisingly large! I also have had bad luck with coats from there, but that might just be me. Two of them have fallen apart on me within weeks of receiving them. I got a refund for one, but the other I didn't bother.

I have noticed that their Tall range is really long. I'm 5'8", but a strange shape, so I tend to go for tall ranges elsewhere, but I have had some things from Asos Tall and they have been too long by about a foot.

In all honesty I think it's trial and error with asos. I can see something I like and I just know how it'll fit. Some things are really oversized and some things are tiny!!!

For example I'm a size 10 but have some smock dresses from ASOS in a size 4 that fit perfectly, the 10 or 8 would have drowned me. Then I also have a pair of denim shorts which came in small (8-10) medium (10-12) and large (12-14) I started off with the small which I could barely get a toe in, tried the medium which wouldn't do up and then sadly bought the large which fit well.

Anything that looks loose or oversized I would downsize in or get your actual size, anything fitted I'd go up. The good thing with asos is it's £9.99 for free next day delivery for a whole year and the returns are free and really easy. I'd maybe order 2 sizes and return the one you don't want

Agree that fit is completely variable. I think they have loads of different suppliers/manufacturers so there’s no consistency. I always order a 10 and a 12, then send one back. Refunds tend to be very quick.

Because they have so many brands it's best to use their fit assistant.

On ASOS own clothes I find them true to fit so I'm usually an 8 and sometimes a 10.

depends on the brand really, is it ASOS own brand? I find they come up a little large but i would study the model and note her measurements ( they write them in the details usually) so you can compare how it might fit on you - also take into account the fit of the coat, if its 'cocoon' or oversized and you don't want it to fit that way you will need to size down.

I find ASOS own brand to be bang on. For a coat though, I would always go for the bigger size to fit jumpers underneath, unless it’s obviously oversized.
