Anyone seen it or have it in real life?
From toast, I’m in the market for a good winter bag that’ll Go across body.

I wear mostly navy, black, white and grey in winter. Short skirts, minimal kind of style, like cos & toast generally and for some reason don’t get on with popular designer bags.

Would you get it? Do you think it looks fussy? I canna decide!

How much is it? The fastening might be stiff. You have to pull the toggle out of the punched hole and these holes are stiff at first. Otherwise I quite like the detailing because it is an update on a satchel bag and it looks roomy.

VictoriaBun · 29/10/2019 11:29

It's certainly not fussy, was expecting some bag with added embellishments and hangy things.
To mean it looks like a plain, basic bag .
Will it fit all bits and bobs in ? I'd use it for work , but not for going out or weekends . It's a nice plain bag , but not one I'd fall in love with . I'd call it a fit for purpose bag.

VictoriaBun · 29/10/2019 11:30

to me *

Musicforsnorks · 29/10/2019 11:42

Fit for purpose Grin
It’s definitely the correct size, perfect in fact.

I’ve got a tan coach Eddie which hurts my shoulder and is too heavy (I need to sell this as it’s quite unworn), a tiny tan Chloe Marcie which is summery, a Fjällräven backpack and a few cotton totes.

I’ve nothing smart, black or a good size that doesn’t hurt.
It is around £240.

Can’t decide.

It's nice enough- I like the shape actuallu- but theres something off about it; i think it has a sort of Fat Face or Joe Browns vibe to it that makes it look inexpensive (comparitive to it's actual cost) and a bit more boho/utilitarian than my tastes are with the laptop bag style shoulder strap, so wouldn't be for me - but it's certainly not bad!

I could not be bothered with those satchel fastenings when I wanted to get in/out of the bag though- I imagine that being such a pain. (Unless they are on poppers, it's hard to tell from the pic)

VictoriaBun · 29/10/2019 11:57

Obviously cost is subjective to your income etc. But personally I wouldn't pay that for any bag . But again if it fits all your needs and you like it . Buy it.

Musicforsnorks · 29/10/2019 12:16

Nah, not happy with price either.

How to avoid designer but still find good quality......I do like utilitarian I suppose, but the idea of unbuckling bothers me. I wondered if there might be a press-stud under the straps Grin

The best bag I have ever owned was given to me by my mum 10 years ago - a fake leather simple cross body from Sainsbury’s. It never ages, looks high quality and is soft, neat and comfy.

But it doesn’t always work like that !

Yep, that bag looks like it'd be a PITA to actually get anything out of, and it's too expensive to be so plain. It's not actually a bad bag, and I think it'd look quite nice if you were a minimalist dresser, but as a Main Bag, nope.

ColdTattyWaitingForSummer · 29/10/2019 13:42

I agree with pp’s.. I’d be annoyed at having to undo two buckles every time I wanted to take something in / out. Might not be so bad if they were actually poppers though. (And yes, definitely too pricy.)

Spied · 29/10/2019 13:48

Too satchel for me and no way does it look worth that price.

Pinkbonbon · 29/10/2019 13:48

Its as glum as the model holding it xD. The buckles would annoy me too. Didn't see the price, wouldn't buy it even if it was cheap though. There are much nicer black leather bags about surely!

NWQM · 29/10/2019 14:04

I love bags. I have no problem spending out on them but I really do not think that bag looks like it's worth £240. In picture one it bulges suggesting it's unbalanced when full. None of the anchor points appear reinforced. Unless you are very careful how you pack it - and life's way to short for that - it will wear unevenly.

There are lots very similar for less.

Musicforsnorks · 29/10/2019 14:15

Hah, it’s a no then! Grin

I am fairly minimal, and thought the ‘hardware’ might liven me up a bit. But I am indeed struggling to justify the cost. If I could go back and not buy my edie bag I’d do it. But then the die is bloody fabulous - just not on my bony shoulders.

Again, my iPad would rather spell die than EDIE. Aaaaaahhg

It's an ugly shape - the way it narrows down at the bottom.

If you're having to ask opinions, rather than posting a delighted OMG LOOK HOW GORGEOUS MY NEW BAG IS!, then it's not the right bag.

RedRec · 29/10/2019 14:49

It looks like a satchel but I love it.

Musicforsnorks · 29/10/2019 15:18

True, if I really want something I usually just buy it, if I’m able.

It must go Grin
