Straight Jeans - where did you buy yours from?

Just that really. After all these years wearing skinny jeans, it's finally time to move on. There are so many straight styles around, I'm a bit overwhelmed. So I am asking the sartorial sisters of Style and Beauty - who does a decent, well cut pair of straight jeans?

Gap does an authentic straight leg jean without stretch that’s a really good fit. Topshop does a high waisted slim-straight jean without stretch too but it’s a bit hit and miss in terms of stock.

Levi do great straight leg jeans

I bought 3 pairs of straight Levis when they were reduced in John Lewis. Also have a pair of Seven for all Mankind one which I love but have gone a bit baggy with age.

Marks and Spencer

I bought a pair in Matalan at the weekend, at £12.50 they are great.

Zara for me.
Every single clothing shop will have them, so you just have to get out there to look at the washes and try them on to get the right fit.

I've moved on from skinny jeans this winter, mostly because I wear ankle boots and don't like tucking skinny jeans in. However as I am a size 16 I find most straight leg jeans just too wide. I've bought some slim leg ones which for me are much better. The M&S magic sculpt, magic lift and Lily jeans are all great. Next also do a slim leg pair for £24 and I think they come in odd sizes too when you order online. Sometimes the waist can gape for me so a 15 might fit better.

What type of shoe do you all wear with straight leg jeans?
Since I hit my 40s I have no idea how to dress myself Confused

I roll them up and wear with trainers or ankle boots.

Thank you for the responses so far ladies, do keep them coming 🙂.

Very true @trendingsomewhere, I remember going to loads of shops and trying on dozens upon dozens of skinny jeans when they became fashionable. I'm hoping this time by asking here on S&B that the choices will be helpfully narrowed down somewhat!

Thanks for the shoe tips, love the Veja suggestion and I have ankle boots so will try them

Arket do the best straight leg jeans. The best jeans full stop. I always struggle with jeans being too baggy on the waist if they fit on the hips but these are perfect. They do cropped length too which is great if like me you have short legs!
