Decluttering Make Up Box

Any tips on decluttering makeup - how long should you keep makeup before throwing out etc?

Makeup usually has a little tub picture on it somewhere saying 12m which means it's good for 12 months after opening.
Some products may vary in months though so best to check.

Smell it/swatch it first! I've had things far longer than I should, but they still smell/feel fine. (If you've ever tried using a gone off lipstick you'll know what I mean.) Although mascara and liquid lipstick definitely have a six months after opening expiry.
