Where do you buy tween boys' clothes?

Not sure if this is a Style and Beauty topic, but I can't find a tweens board...

Finding everyday clothes for DS12 is becoming a bit tricky. He's a 12-13 rather than 11-12. H&M is still okay, but he seems to be in between kids and adults in so many other shops. Even primark is a bit limited (and I'm taking oxford st flagship store here). And I have no idea how sizing works past the kids' department.

I'm not a big shopper and don't hang out much with other parents so I'm at a bit of a loss. Where should I be looking? Happy-ish to buy online, don't mind digging a bit offline as we're in London so there's plenty around - if only I knew where to look!

Thank you...

My kids arnt that old yet but have you tried next for the older boys section

loubeylou68smellsofreindeerpoo · 26/10/2019 22:00

Mine will only wear Nike or Adidas (he has to use birthday money etc to buy it) if only you were in Somerset I have bags of clothes he won't wear 🤦🏻‍♀️

namechangenumber2 · 26/10/2019 22:02

My 10 year old is very tall ( In aged 13-14 or small men's ) and I'm finding it really tricky to find clothes for him.

Dontstepinthecowpat · 26/10/2019 22:03

My 11 year old is pretty average sized although on the skinny side and I mostly shop in Zara for him age 11-12.

wineconnoisseur · 26/10/2019 22:03

River island

SQLCat · 26/10/2019 23:18

H&M and Uniqlo!

SQLCat · 26/10/2019 23:19

Also Hollister and Pull and Bear

milliefiori · 26/10/2019 23:22

H&M and Uniqlo were the best for that age group. especially H&M. You can also try Hollister XS mens sizes and Primark XS mens jeans and chinos are very good too.

Annasgirl · 26/10/2019 23:26

Zara for dressed-up items like sweaters and trousers. But mine lives in tracksuits now and shorts as he does so much sport. I heard ASOS is good for tall teens. I have had to move to men’s for socks and shoes now!!! 😢

pikapikachu · 26/10/2019 23:26

JD sports, H&M

Like a previous poster he's very into sports brands and lives in Hoodies and skinny jeans.

Heymummee · 26/10/2019 23:29

JD Sports, Pro Direct (online), Sports Direct and Next/River Island for jeans and the occasional T-shirt or jumper.

SQLCat · 27/10/2019 00:19

H&M online is better for this age than in the store. Perhaps that’s why you’re not seeing the older boy range.

AnnaNimmity · 27/10/2019 06:50

H&M and JD (for the vile tracksuit trousers that he loves).

Passthecake30 · 27/10/2019 07:42

Mine is 11 and very skinny. Just discovered Next spray on joggers and jeans, that fit him without looking ridiculous. He wears those coupled with a tshirt and jumper from sports directs. Atm he is all about comfort rather than style.

chasingseagulls · 27/10/2019 08:49

Same as lots of PP my sone will only wear sportswear, awful grey and black hoodies and tracksuits from The North Face, Nike or Adidas. The only thing in H&M he'll wear are the jeans. He also has VERY specific ideas about which bits, I couldn't just go into Sports Direct and pick up random stuff from these brands wouldn't give Sports Direct my money anyway

We tend to wait for online discount days, Nike an Adidas have 20% off fairly regularly, even on sale stuff too.

missyB1 · 27/10/2019 09:03

I have the same problem, a tall skinny 11 year old. Online shopping is tricky because guessing the sizing is impossible and I’ve had to send a few things back. Our H&M doesn’t have an older boys section and neither does our next, it’s like boys don’t exist beyond the age of 9!!

So we tend to buy from
Lands End
Outdoor wear shops such as Trespass
GAP (for joggers and jeans)
John Lewis for odd bits

He loves Rugby so often wears Rugby shirts.

Hollister for t-shirts and hoodies.
H&M for jeans.
The jeans need to be tried on. 13 year old ds is in a 14 years or a small adult pair.
Hollister he picks from the website. There's always sale stock on there.
Another D's chooses t-shirts from Tk Maxx online. However he's pretty cool and definitely knows his style.
