Navy sandals with a black dress?

Earlier in the week I had a last minute invite to a charity ball for this evening. I ordered a NAVY Jenny Packham dress from Debenhams which has just arrived and it's most definitely black. The only shoes I have that are not ankle boots / brogues / trainers / flat sandals are navy. I know lots of people wear navy and black together but it's not a colour combination I've ever worn. Can I get away with it. (I've sent DH to Asda and Sainsburys to look for black or metallic sandals or shoes but not holding out much hope!)

So would I. You will look fab.

haha I'm the same - it would make me feel so uncomfortable to wear navy shoes with a black dress.

i'd still go though.

I’d only do it with a navy bag and earrings!

Lovely dress - blimey, it must be very, very, VERY dark navy!
Anyway I think it will look great with the sandals. Nice to have a bit of a contrast, I like mixing black and navy occasionally. Have a great time!
