BB/CC cream/foundation/concealer HELP!

I'm dipping my toe back into the workplace next week after 5 years of being a SAHM. I don't wear a lot of make up but feel I need to make a bit more of an effort. I've never really worn foundation before and am a bit clueless... I suppose my biggest issues are black circles under my eyes and scarring/red marks on my chin from spots. Can anyone recommend where/what I should start with? The thought of the beauty counters in most department stores scares the living daylights out of me and I don't want to be bullied into buying things I don't need. Can anyone help?

I have uneven skin tone from spots etc but don’t like looking too ‘done’. Eborian bb cream (I use nude which is the most sheer) is great as a light foundation to even up skin tone, with a little powder on top (I use bobby brown). And touché eclait is my lifesaver for under eyes! There are a few tones to it so it’s worth going into a department store to test it. Neither are cheap but they last me for ages. I then use a little blusher (as foundation takes away the colour in your cheeks) and mascara and I’m finished. Good luck with returning to work.
