Facial with friction

I had a facial at the weekend, it was Elemis and oh my goodness my skin looks amazing!

I normally have espa facials and use Detmalogica products at home, including the chemical exfoliant, which suits me well.

This was on another level though. She spent quite a long time rubbing my face and I think was wearing some sort of glove. Apparently a lot of skin came off .... and it shows. My skin is clearer and fresher.

I had always thought though that chemical exfoliants were the way to go as less harsh.

Does anybody know what those type of facia is called?

Any thoughts on if it is good for you? If it is I am signing up for regular ones!

No idea but waiting to see the answer! Sounds amazing!

Sounds like gommage, the science behind it is a bit iffy though and it's uncertain you're actually removing dead skin cells but people who use it tend to be lyrical about it. Cure natural aqua gel from Japan is very popular for this.

Hi I have the glove. It what they use in moroccan hammam. I bought it from a Moroccan butchers in Golborne road w10. It works all over the body. Rolls of dead skin come off

Does anyone have any comments as to if it's a good long term thing for skin?

Certainly in the short term it seems to be!
