Childs Farm products

I have psoriasis on my scalp, in my eyebrows, and on some parts of my body. Not as severe as my sister but noticeable nonetheless. Over the years I've spent a fortune on various products in the hope of finding something that would stop the dryness/flaking/itching, including creams and emollients recommended and prescribed by GP. Nothing has worked really, until I bought Childs Farm moisturiser from Asda - there's an unfragranced version and a grapefruit & organic tea tree oil one, and I bought the latter. I have to say it has been brilliant. There was a weird little area on the side of my nose that repeatedly just formed a psoriasis 'skin' and then loosened and fell off but it left the skin beneath it sore and itchy and 'weeping' a clear discharge. Sorry if that's TMI, I'm being honest because since using this fab moisturiser, that area on my nose has completely cleared up! Because the moisturiser has worked so well, I bought the shampoo and conditioner last weekend, hoping it would help my scalp. And it has! No more itching. Such a relief. Another bonus is that as a T2 diabetic, I have to be careful what lotions/creams if any I use between my toes. This is safe to use there and has also helped the condition of my feet.

Just wanted to share in case anyone else suffers or has been suffering same or similar and looking for something to help.

The product isn't expensive and at the moment they have a 3-for-2 offer on. Form an orderly queue! Grin

CLQ, thanks for that link! Amazon don't seem to do that version in a tub but I may splash out and order both the coconut and tt and see which if any suits me best, and let you know Flowers

@bert3400 Thanks for sharing your own experience with CF Grin

Thanks OP! Coeliac is the pits, constantly missing decent toast and biscuits! Lovely to see how many people it has worked for on a plus side- I hope it provides you some long term relief!

I bought CF strawberry and mint shampoo hoping to stop DD's itchy scalp, which it did. Weirdly it's also fixed my hair loss, my hair was coming out in handfuls (I'm 44 and had assumed it was a peri symptom) but within 2 washes with the CF (I'd run out of shampoo and pinched some of DD's) it had stopped, been using it for months now and it's still working. No idea if it will work for anyone else, guess it could have been a coincidence but thought it was worth mentioning.

Can I just jump in here to remind people with psoriasis that's making them miserable to see their GP and ask for a Dermatology referral? There are medical treatments that really work, and while products like the ones recommended here may help, if your condition is severe, you would benefit from at least trying them.

@Unwrittenrule It's great that the shampoo helped you so much. As you say, might be a kwinkydink but it certainly is worth mentioning. Hope it continues to work for you Flowers

@BitOfFun I had already tried several creams and medications via my GP but nothing worked for me. I did not, however, ask for a Dermatology referral! It wasn't suggested and I didn't think of it but if my own scalp starts to bother me again - we all know that sometimes a product initially works well then can stop working Sad - I'll go back to GP and discuss a referral. Thanks for the mention!
