What make-up/ clothes should I buy in New York?

I'm off to the US and need recommendations of what to get out there which may not be available or far more expensive in the UK?

I think unfortunately the days of stuff being cheaper in America are gone! And clothes-wise there’s very little we can’t get here too. Loft has some decent clothes (nothing too exciting though) and I like Aerie underwear (though it’s a while since I bought any so it may have changed)
