Would you botox these eyes?

Hello all!

A WWYD.

I have (not a boast) quite high cheekbones and strong muscles in my cheeks. It’s hereditary, my brothers and dad have the same facial structure. Since my late twenties I’ve noticed that when smiling my eyes wrinkle deeply and are disproportionately wrinkled/ageing compared to the rest of my face.

I had Botox around my eyes few times when I was 30/31 and it was amazing ! The problem disappeared . But it was expensive.

I’ve since had two babies a year apart, am tired , haven’t had botox while pregnant or BF obviously (am no longer BF). I could afford occasional botox but it’s so hard to find the time to go without my kids ! It would be much more convenient and affordable if I could find a topical solution (I don’t believe one exists - mild peels help a little bit don’t take away the deeply folding skin when smiling). Even better id love to learn not to care ... But I can’t. My eyes are really getting me down... just so wrinkled and ageing when I smile. I’m only 34!

When at rest I don’t have any wrinkles / crows feet. Pics attached - would you just start getting botox again or Should I be forcing myself to rise above it (I wish I could)?!

If it bothers you and you can afford it. Yes.

Lizziedu49 · 23/10/2019 21:11

You are so lucky to not have wrinkly eyes! You do not need Botox. When you smile it reaches your eyes. I can't imagine that your smile looks as genuine after you have had Botox... you do not have wrinkles/creases and I'm sure you don't walk around smiling like a loon so it's a firm no vote from me!

RoseHippy1 · 23/10/2019 21:13

Thank you both , and thanks for your kindness @Lizziedu49

I would and just have it when you feel you can afford it, it will still reduce them and stop it progressing as much (not that your eyes are bad but I get mine done as I like it too)

Idontneeditatall · 23/10/2019 21:15

No you don’t need it, the lines are only there when you smile, and they should be. Your smile would look weird imo if those muscles didn’t move

CalmFizz · 23/10/2019 21:17

Those aren’t wrinkles, they’re smile/laughter lines. I’m not saying that in the cliche way, it’s genuinely only there to show real expression of happiness extending across your face. When your face is in repose, they leave no trace.

Do you want to erase the happiness from your face when you smile at your children?

RoseHippy1 · 23/10/2019 21:20

Thanks all, I never really had the frozen face effect from botox... I still could smile. But I do hear what you are saying and it’s very helpful thanks so much :)

Agree with @Idontneeditatall and I am 26 and have lip fillers so it's not like I have an aversion to it. Just being wholeheartedly honest!

Mymomsbetterthanyomom · 23/10/2019 21:26

No!Your eyes are pretty and you are really beautiful how you are.

EdWinchester · 23/10/2019 21:30

Yes! Like a shot.

It clearly bothers you and Botox will stop you getting deep, permanent lines.

RoseHippy1 · 23/10/2019 21:31

Thanks all. So kind. .Any tips on keeping the eye area hydrated and youthful looking welcomed!

They aren't wrinkles at all. I follow someone on Instagram who has beautiful smile lines like you. She's younger than you I'm sure. If you have IG check her out. Her name is chessiekingg

Cuddling57 · 23/10/2019 21:35

I think you have great eyes!
It's a no from me.

userxx · 23/10/2019 22:03

No need, they are smile lines.

Sagradafamiliar · 23/10/2019 22:31

I did this in my 20s and it had the strangest effect. The smile lines migrated to underneath my eyes, an area which hadn't been botoxed. So completely smooth 'crows feet' area, but then the skin under my eyes was bunched up!
I was so glad to get my happy crinkles back, a few years later they still haven't caused wrinkles. They just appear when I'm smiling or laughing.

Cinammoncake · 23/10/2019 22:31

I wouldn't, no

Ikeameatballs · 23/10/2019 22:37

I would. I had cheek fillers and Botox a month ago. I love the effects. It was expensive though!

userxx · 23/10/2019 22:49

Botox is for wrinkles that are there permanently, not just when you smile.

Lhastingsmua · 23/10/2019 22:59

I would

newreality1 · 23/10/2019 23:17

You have lovely smooth skin, I wouldn't get botox now to be honest. As someone previously said botox is for wrinkles that are there permanently not just when you smile. I think your skin looks amazing.

Regretfulandstupid · 24/10/2019 02:33

Yes, 100%. Those are smile lines today, but time soon changes that and they will crease the skin.

Ilikesweetpeas · 24/10/2019 17:41

I agree with others that you have lovely eyes, and these are smile lines however mine are similar and I have Botox. I love the effect! Very natural but fewer lines, it works for me 😀

Wishuponaleprechaun · 24/10/2019 18:38

I would 🙈 My friend has similar, she’s 34 and hers have already set into quite deep wrinkles now 😔

Delatron · 24/10/2019 18:53

I think when you botox the crows feet the wrinkles can migrate under the eyes as you compensate. As someone above mentioned.

As they aren’t there at rest I would leave the area alone for now. It’s a bit of a slippery slope.

RefundRequested · 24/10/2019 18:54

No.

Lines show beauty and warmth.

I'd take your eyes over emotionless botox eyes any day.
