Would you botox these eyes?

Hello all!

A WWYD.

I have (not a boast) quite high cheekbones and strong muscles in my cheeks. It’s hereditary, my brothers and dad have the same facial structure. Since my late twenties I’ve noticed that when smiling my eyes wrinkle deeply and are disproportionately wrinkled/ageing compared to the rest of my face.

I had Botox around my eyes few times when I was 30/31 and it was amazing ! The problem disappeared . But it was expensive.

I’ve since had two babies a year apart, am tired , haven’t had botox while pregnant or BF obviously (am no longer BF). I could afford occasional botox but it’s so hard to find the time to go without my kids ! It would be much more convenient and affordable if I could find a topical solution (I don’t believe one exists - mild peels help a little bit don’t take away the deeply folding skin when smiling). Even better id love to learn not to care ... But I can’t. My eyes are really getting me down... just so wrinkled and ageing when I smile. I’m only 34!

When at rest I don’t have any wrinkles / crows feet. Pics attached - would you just start getting botox again or Should I be forcing myself to rise above it (I wish I could)?!

Botox is certainly addictive, it’s hard to stop when it wears off... and it’s expensive. It looked fab though. I’m going to try and accept it for a little longer (I think )...,

No. It just looks weird around the eyes and as others have said, you get wrinkles under your eyes instead.

CountFosco · 24/10/2019 20:26

You look great and (noone) needs Botox. Just think of the fun things you could do with the money you haven't spent on Botox.

MrsPellegrinoPetrichor · 25/10/2019 00:03

No, they are smile lines which is just the shape of your face. They aren't wrinkles. You'll end up with wrinkles elsewhere if you do.

OMGshefoundmeout · 25/10/2019 02:22

I would and I do. Booked in for another session next week. As long as it works and I can afford it I’ll keep doing it.

OooErMissus · 25/10/2019 03:27

You have no wrinkles when in repose, so I really wouldn't bother.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 25/10/2019 04:34

Another one here whose wrinkles ended up under their eyes. It looked so odd on me I was thrilled when it wore off.

itsaldramarama · 25/10/2019 07:07

No I wouldn't , I've had my eyes done in the past and looked strange ! Puffy wrinkles underneath when smiling and a bit manic looking ! Now I leave the eyes and just have forehead and between the eyes on frown line , much more natural

dudsville · 25/10/2019 07:15

I'm on the side of those who wouldn't. You have nice skin, nice eyes, and they are meant to crinkle when we're happy. It can be a shock to see as most of us only really look in the mirror when we're doing something other than laughing at something. I remember being on the phone once, wandering around, laughing and caught a glimpse in the mirror. I was shocked too, but that's now just what my face looks like when I'm happy. If I didn't love my face when I'm happy what would that say about me?

OverByYer · 25/10/2019 07:16

I'm amazed at how many of you have Botox and at such a young age.
Maybe it's a generational thing. I'm 48 and not sure I'm ready for it yet

flabagoose · 25/10/2019 07:33

I started at 30 and have been very happy with it, no frozen face, no weird expression, just no deeper lines forming over the last few years

loops2019 · 25/10/2019 19:56

I'm 35 and recently started
You can leave a small amount remaining so it looks natural when you smile
I was becoming self conscious and starting to stop smiling
I was looking 40+
Only blond or red heads get loads of smile lines in their mid 30s so in my view it is ageing

What?

HalfManHalfLabrador · 25/10/2019 20:34

Yes I would

LittleDancers · 25/10/2019 20:51

Does anyone who has Botox ever worry about getting droopy eyes though? I have considered it but have seen some celebs on TV with temporary droopy eyes presumably from Botox and they also presumably have access to the best cosmetic practitioners, so what hope is there for the rest of us.... How do you trust if the person giving you Botox won't overdo it or misplace where they put it (and I mean even actual qualified doctors who specialise in cosmetic treatments, not an inexperienced beautician who went on a weekend course).

thetardis · 25/10/2019 20:56

it's definitely a generational thing imho. you couldn't pay me to get someone to inject random liquids into my face. let alone a deadly toxin. what happened to common sense?

[harrrumph]

thetardis · 25/10/2019 20:57

eta: i look 40+, because (!!!) i am Grin i'm actually proud of having made it this far.

minesagin37 · 25/10/2019 21:06

I wouldn't ever Botox anything. It's looks bloody awful.

ReginaGeorgeous · 25/10/2019 22:15

Honestly? No, I don't think you need botox, but I'd consider microblading your eyebrows.

RogueV · 25/10/2019 22:18

ikeameatballs can you tell me about the cheek fillers?

thetardis · 25/10/2019 22:33

tbf i've seen some overdone cheek fillers that may as well have been ikea meatballs :D

TheStuffedPenguin · 25/10/2019 23:53

Lines under your eyes from using botox?? Never had that ! Yes if I were you I would have them done as a preventative for the future .

userxx · 26/10/2019 10:23

@LittleDancers You need a good doctor with a lot of experience. I wouldn't consider going into a salon for something like. Yes, I pay a premium but I'm confident about the outcome
.

BeatriceTheBeast · 26/10/2019 10:39

Nope! You look great and have no wrinkles unless you really force it. I had wrinkles like that on my shoulder when I pushed it around in my early twenties! It just meant I was very dehydrated. A good moisturiser and healthy diet sorted it.

I think the eye area is a bit hit and miss with botox, as they can end up looking a bit piggy..? Like someone who drinks a lot and puffs up. Not a good look.

If you do go for it, I would also agree with pps saying go to a decent doctor. No salons or dentists.

Wheat2Harvest · 26/10/2019 10:42

I wouldn't have noticed the lines around your eyes. Many people have lines when they laugh or smile. It's normal.

What isn't normal is the waxy appearance of Botox treatment.
