Teeth whitening that doesn’t cost a fortune

I brush my teeth religiously morning and night but they are still really yellow!

I really want whiter teeth! People with white teeth always look more ‘together’ I think so can anyone recommend any products?

You can buy crest white strips on eBay and I found they really worked for me. I bought them when I was in America but they don’t do them here.

tappitytaptap · 20/10/2019 08:11

Second crest whitestrips, even my dentist uses them! I’m about to order some more off eBay, any suggestions for sellers @Igetknockeddownbutgetupagain?

Do I even want to know why they don’t do them here? Grin

Not licensed I don’t think @tequilasunrises 🤦🏻‍♀️🙈

Crest whitestrips are brilliant. I would only buy them in the US though (or get someone to buy them for you), as I'd be suspicious of online ones. My friend bought them online and they were not in the boxes, which made me Hmm

I had my teeth whitened at the dentist (Enlighten) which cost £550. Dh used the strips (about £60) and the results are pretty much the same.

Following with interest! I would like to know why we can't buy the gel and get the mounds made somehow online which is what the dentists use for professional results? Surely there must be sellers out there and then we're not paying the middle man (dentist)?!

gd1976 · 23/10/2019 21:46

Confused moulds not mounds!!!

Biancadelrioisback · 23/10/2019 21:48

Gosh I buy the crest ones all the time! At least once a year I get 14 strips, spend 2 weeks bleaching my teeth and they look amazing!
They don't come in the box but they seem to work, my teeth are still nice and healthy 7 years later

sylbunny · 23/10/2019 21:54

I haven't had it done yet but the hygienist recommended airflow for getting stains off without the chemical damage. My teeth are very sensitive so I'm going to give that a go first. It's about £80 and includes a hygienist clean too.

UpToonGirl · 23/10/2019 22:04

@gd1976 you can buy the moulds online! I had some from the dentist and being a moron I put the moulds in the dishwasher...didn't think anything of it until I pulled out limp smooshed plastic. I still had some of the whitening bleach so I ordered some cheap moulds on Amazon for about a tenner. You put them in boiling water to soften then on your teeth while they cool.

TBH they certainly aren't as good as the original set were but obviously a hell of a lot cheaper!

Leflic · 23/10/2019 23:20

Look for Groupon. I got moulds and bleach gel for £85. Been using gel from Amazon that comes from the States when a I can be bothered.
Avoid the laser whitening as it doesn’t work.

gd1976 · 24/10/2019 07:24

Oh fab! How do you know which gel to buy? I'm guessing it has to be a certain % and lots are on the market that aren't strong enough to work??

Everafter1 · 24/10/2019 08:37

Worked in the field & I use Crest strips. Great results, inexpensive in comparison & fool proof.
The % of bleach used in dentistry is now very low.
If you are planning on getting moulds I would recommend going to a professional.

Adollop · 25/10/2019 13:43

I have a bridge .. just one tooth. Can I use the strips? It would be tricky to leave that one tooth out ...

gd1976 · 31/10/2019 20:48

Thanks for the advice and good to know the crest strips are thought to be good in the field. On eBay there are loads for sale saying 3D professional whitening strips but no sign of crest written on the packaging- any tips on where to buy the proper ones?

CabbagePatchKids · 01/11/2019 09:02

Following this. I'm keen to try the Crest strips but want to make sure I get the right ones.

Do you think it's ok to use whilst breastfeeding??

FMFL · 01/11/2019 09:05

I’ve just googled Crest white strips and you can get them from UK sellers...would this be ok do you think? And there are so many types...which one would be best? Tia!

goose1964 · 01/11/2019 09:22

I've looked up crest whitening strips and if you can get them in the UK they won't be the same as the US as those have too much whitening product (acid) for the EU market so they are not considered safe. Too much whitening can cause your teeth to go clear.

PinkDaydreams · 01/11/2019 09:25

You can get moulds from your dentist. I had them done a few years ago, cost around £90. Bought the bleach from a website and showed the dentist. She (discreetly) told me that it was the exact same one that they use.

PinkDaydreams · 01/11/2019 09:26

I only do my teeth once a year, that’s all they need.

gd1976 · 02/11/2019 17:51

Pinkdaydreans where did you get your bleach from and what percentage was it if you don't mind me asking?

snaxinyourslacks · 02/11/2019 18:47

Are these the American Crest strips? There are so many different ones on EBay , I'm not sure which ones to get.

I'm not sure!
