Tell me about your microblading emotional rollercoaster

Love to read your microblading emotional rollercoaster.

I had my done 2.5 days ago. First 36 hours I absolutely hated them. They looked 'Kardashian's like, really blocky and oh so dark. I just felt like I had kylie Jenner style eyebrows which is not the natural look I was seeking. I wanted them to balance my features not be an statement brow.

I'm 2.5 days in and slightly happier. Covering them with glasses all day has helped significantly!!

Can anyone else let me know how they felt at various points on the healing process.

How much does it cost? How long does it take?
I'm very interested in getting them done as my eyebrows are thin and patchy but I do NOT want big conspicuous brows!

kmini · 18/10/2019 21:39

Mine was 500. It took an hour and 15. No caffiene blfor 48 hrs before - I found that the worst part of all. For me, mine as conspicuous but I'm told they fade and I hoping they do substantially!

I love mine. I've had them a few years now and they help frame my face so much better!
Yes they do start off dark but you really need to research your artist x

CodenameVillanelle · 18/10/2019 22:40

£500 for 1hr15 work! That's a lot! My tattoo artist charges £80ph why is this so much more??

marmiteloversunite · 18/10/2019 22:51

I had them done before chemo and I was really glad I did but OMG it hurt so much! It felt like she was scratching into my skull. Couldn't go back for the top up.

Flowersmakemyday · 18/10/2019 23:05

I had mine done last month, they cost £200 and I'm delighted with them. I asked for natural looking one and I was happy to go without glasses on immediately.

kmini · 19/10/2019 10:21

She comes with really good recommendations from people who's opinions I generally trust (albeit beauty editor and famous make up artists) - hence the super blow out cost, plus a central London location. I didnt want to risk regretting my choice of 'artist' Hmm. I think they are well done, they are beautifully symmetrical, the strokes are fine. I think it's just not being used to bigger brows and I wish they were slightly more delicate, especially in the outer brow. They are also very dark which also feels foreign. I suppose I'm just hoping others had these feelings and they ended up loving them.

They will lighten, although obviously how much depends on what colour you had microbladed on. I had mine done 2 months ago, best thing I ever did. They look dark until they heal ( ie scabs fall off) keep moisturising them & I'm sure you will love them.

Paraballa · 19/10/2019 14:29

Are they permanent? I'd love not to have to fill my eyebrows in.

Craiglang · 19/10/2019 15:44

I love mine but 2 or 3 days after I had them done I was absolutely devastated that I'd done something so stupid and ruined my face Hmm They were like huge, thick dark slugs. After they healed they're lovely and natural. I've only ever had one person ask if I'd had them done, everyone else has been shocked and looked closely to see the strokes. I had naturally very wonky brows, they're beautifully even now. I love them. It's been about 10 months and I need to book in my top-up for the new year. I'm dreading the healing again but obviously it will be much less than the first time.

historysock · 19/10/2019 15:50

Would anyone mind putting pictures on (just of the brows obvs if you can?)
I really want mine done as I'm so sick of filling them in but I'm just too nervous!

TottieandMarchpane · 19/10/2019 15:55

I keep chickening out.

ClientListQueen · 19/10/2019 16:05

Here's mine. I had micropigmentation

What's micropigmentation? They look amazing!

ClientListQueen · 19/10/2019 17:10

It's using a single needle as opposed to a blade

SnaccidentsHappen · 19/10/2019 17:24

I have just had my annual top up yesterday (micro pigmentation). They always look dark to begin with but once fully healed are awesome 😎

ooooohbetty · 19/10/2019 17:38

The worst bit for me was the scabbing that looked like I had maggots in my eyebrows. Mine cost £250 including top up. £500 is v expensive.

AnduinsGirl · 19/10/2019 17:41

I'm having mine done over 4 treatments, the woman is absolutely fab! She said by building up in layers it gives a more tonal instead outturn a solid block. These have all been with the blade so far but the final treatment in a couple of weeks will be with the gun apparently. After treatment one was the WORST. Scabs and patches and awfulness. Now it's l so mu h better, it's changed my life not having to pencil every day, and I can't wait to be done. 475 quid but worth it.

PeterRouseTheFleshofMankind · 19/10/2019 17:43

500 quid?!

ExpletiveDelighted · 19/10/2019 17:50

I had micropigmentation done recently, in two sessions 4 weeks apart. I'm dark haired with almost non-existent brows. After the first session they looked huge and pale-reddish and I felt really self conscious for a few days, after the second session they looked perfect right away and I love them. I had no noticeable scabbing either time.

historysock · 19/10/2019 17:57

And the scabbing lasts for a few days? So hypothetically I could avoid leaving the house whilst it's at it's worse?

AgentProvocateur · 19/10/2019 18:04

Daft question, but what happens to your actual brows? Does the hair just grow as normal?

AnduinsGirl · 19/10/2019 18:18

Yes the hair grows as normal. But in my case my hideously over plucked brows were sparse anyway. The scabbing was awful for me first time cos I didnt use bepanthen. Second time the scabs were less dry and the colour took hold much better
