Best SPF to go under make-up

Can anyone recommend a good SPF as a final step before I apply my makeup? I use a Retinoid so have to use SPF but can’t find one I like. I have one by The Ordinary but it’s a bit chalky looking and one by La Roche Posay but that seems to flake. Any suggestions?

I’m a big fan of Olay Regenerist. It’s a great non-greasy moisturiser base for makeup.

I use an ultra sun one. It has spf, and a pollution shield... I’ll look for a link

www.ultrasun.com/en-GB/shop/face/product/face-brightening-spf-50-plus/40

Also available in m&s. am really impressed

I use Kiehl’s 50 SPF under Clarins foundation.
It’s very light, but a bit shiny (which I don’t mind, makes me look more youthful)

Biore Watery Essence. It's the only one that doesn't make my eyes water.

Dirtyjellycat · 18/10/2019 21:15

Thanks everyone, I didn’t expect many replies to this! I’m going to go and investigate now.

@mrsmaiselsmuff I’m a watery eye person too - though only one eye for some reason. It drives me mad!

Revlon Colorstay Prep & Protect Primer. SPF25. Doesn't make me chalky, has no discernible scent and doesn't make my eyes water (I have this problem too). I think it helps my makeup stay on pretty well. If you are in the UK I don't think you'll need higher SPF than 25 for the winter season.

The body shop one is fab

ViserionTheDragon · 18/10/2019 22:59

The La Roche Posay one is brilliant after makeup.

After = under Blush

Mayborn · 18/10/2019 23:01

Heliocare or YSL colour corrector is SPF35

But are the spfs in moisturisers strong enough?

Zeldaaa · 19/10/2019 11:05

La Roche posey Shaka fluid. Also like biore watery essence

superram · 19/10/2019 11:14

Where do you get biore watery essence from?

I buy mine on amazon. It gets imported from a Japanese store, and they often include a little piece of origami with it!

Biore, lrp melt in cream (better than other lrp sunscreens), dermalogica spf primer or spf50 sunshield, ultrasun face
