So, I get married in 5 weeks. My skin is absolutely appalling! I have a fantastic makeup artist, but I’d like to give him a bit of a hand and help out my skin.

I’ve got greasy/spotty forehead, chin and nose. Dry cheeks, but with lots of open pores, black heads, whiteheads. You name it I’ve for it!!

Any fabulous advice?? I also look tired (2 kids!!).

Do you use an acid toner? Single best thing I've ever done for my skin!

The dilemma with starting a skin care routine now is that you may break out and and up in the 'worse before better stage right when you get married.
I've found BHA from Paulas Choice amazing. 1% calm I've used to get started and it's made such a difference. I'm also using a niacinamide serum but I think start with one change at a time. If you contact Paula's choice and explain your situation they give good advice as a starting point.

I get married in a few weeks and my skin was terrible!! What I’ve found working well is face theory products. Namely:

Vitamin c cleanser
Retinol
Bha exfoliant
Rose hip oil

And I bought the oil free moisturiser and primer.

First couple of weeks my skin got worse but now is so glowy. (I promise I don’t work for them!)

I’ve also been cutting back on dairy.

I also echo the Paulas choice recommendation :)

I use pretty much zero Blush

Often a baby wipe to take my makeup off...often not taking it off at all!!

Oh I don’t want to make it worse...hmm!!

I NEVER had a skincare routine, at a push I'd use a wipe but no moisturiser, cleanser, nada! Christmas last year, my lucky streak ended and I had the worst breakouts ever. My skin turned oily and every day I'd wake up with a new spot😩😩 I thought it was just my chocolate and cheese breakfasts but after Xmas ended and my breakouts didn't, I needed to do something! I spent hundreds on Clinique, Mario Badescu and Kiehls. Nothing worked. I then bought a £4.99 cream from Superdrug called Acnecide gel, I never looked back!! Would recommend to anyone but make sure you use a teeny tiny amount just before bed and moisturise in the morning. Xx

Thanks for the advice - is it drying? I’m always worried things that are for acne are going to really dry out my skin!

@NauseousNancy if you use too much it is, but if you just use a tiny amount before bed and then moisturise in the morning I've been fine x

Benzoyl peroxide. X
