Which brand do you buy most of your clothing from?

Interested to see what brands people will say. Also need some inspiration as my wardrobe is 90% Fat Face (which I love but want to see if there are any similar).

OP posts:

Meant to add, I normally buy a couple of bits from each. I cleared 90% of my clothes this year as most of them were 10+ years old & really weren’t my style anymore. I’m building up with things I like again season by season.

Divebar · 17/10/2019 09:49

A lot of charity shop and eBay clothes -( particularly knitwear and boots) and I really try to buy pre loved before new. Brands in my wardrobe are Cos, Arket, Jaeger ASOS, Uniqlo, M&S &Other Stories. Kin and the odd bit of Finery. ( Evening wear is almost all second hand and all bets are off.... Phase 8, Coast, Miss Selfridge even). Anything remotely “ designer” is likely to be Vivienne Westwood.

Talisin · 17/10/2019 09:51

Hush, Next and recently quite a bit from New Look.

Thehagonthehill · 17/10/2019 09:55

I seemo have a lot of white stuff and a fair amount of M&S

Ludos · 17/10/2019 09:59

Tesco

Zenithbear · 17/10/2019 10:01

Basics H&M
Work Next, Hobbs, CK
Topshop, All Saints and charity shops for everything else.

ImportantWater · 17/10/2019 10:03

85 percent White Stuff and Seasalt, 5 percent Fat Face, 2 per cent Hobbs, 1 percent M and S, 2 percent other. I would say.

Interesting thread OP!

I mostly buy:
Uniqlo (their knitwear and jeggings)

Hush (various bits and bobs, some of it is the most used stuff in my wardrobe now I think about it esp leggings, chinos and their khaki jacket)

Warehouse (dresses and skirts particularly good and nice basic tops)

Monsoon occasionally (I have a dress from there I wear all the time and it's not at all Monsoon-y!)

Esprit is great for tops I find

H&M for tops/knits and Zara occasionally.

John Lewis and Partners new stuff can be good, I have a great coat from them and their shirts are nice

In the sale I buy Whistles dresses (the Lola shirt dress) and tops.

If I had more spare cash like in the odlen days before I DC I would still buy the above but would also buy more Jigsaw, By Malene Birger, a bit of Toast, even the occasional bit of Joseph though the prices used to make my eyes water.

I'm trying to buy less and WELL, a bit to save money but also because I'm thinking about sustainability where I can and I do have a wardrobe full of perfectly nice clothes! This A/W for example I just bought a Hush skirt and leggings, a Warehouse skirt and 2 tops, an H&M sweater and new trainers (Geox). All my other Uniqlo knits, my jackets and coats, even last years' and the year before's boots - all still in great nick so I'm not replacing them. (and fashion is one of my major vices so this is a big step for me!)

ImportantWater · 17/10/2019 10:04

Oh that leaves a mystery 5 percent from somewhere else.

fantasmasgoria1 · 17/10/2019 10:13

I buy a lot of vintage 2nd hand gothic stuff. I check out the brand sometimes and they are usually decent ones. I also buy hell bunny, jawbreaker, disturbia, poizen industries, vixxsin, and other brands, primark for some stuff especially pyjamas, tights cardigans etc. In summer I go to a shop I know that sells ethnic harem pants and summer stuff. Am independent Shop in town that sells some quirky/gothy stuff from Italy.

boiseidaho · 17/10/2019 10:14

Mango, Warehouse and Reiss. I wouldn't have said any of those brands were my favourites exactly, but I can always find something I like in those places and know that they'll fit me well and suit my actual style (as opposed to the style I wish I could pull off).

LilyJade · 17/10/2019 10:36

River Island, Dorothy Perkins, Tesco, Primark, New Look, Accessorize, Office, Schuh, Oasis etc

LilyJade · 17/10/2019 10:37

TU, Peacocks and Primark, (supplemented with second hand finds from charity shops/eBay and more unique things off the internet.) I know the ethics of fast fashion aren't great but I can't afford better brands.

DonnaDarko · 17/10/2019 12:49

H&M
New Look
Primark

I only ever wear leggings, t-shirts and hoodies. I work from home and I like to be comfy 😁

QuaterMiss · 17/10/2019 12:49

Twice I have typed a comment but been too polite (cowardly) to post it. HmmGrin

Two words: Internet shopping.

(This means you are allowed to buy clothes from shops not found on your local High St, or even in your local country ...)
