what would you wear with these?

Hi guys

What would you wear with these navy and red check trouser. Strictly comfortable so a pair of trainers on feet but what on top?

That's a tricky colour. Can't wear black or blue with them and red would be too much. I'd say white. Or cream. A nice top you like.

I think most colours would look alright. Green, white, blue, purple. Like the pp, I wouldn't go red though, as it would be too much. Matchy matchy and a bit like pjs!

On feet, yeah, trainers or maybe brogues or DM boots.

I really like the trousers though.

Thanks guys, I was thinking a red polo type top but that seems to be veto'd! See what you mean about the red looking like pj's, kids already asked why I was wearing my pyjamas...

Rules are stupid! I totally agree. I never shy away from breaking fashion rules. But in my imagination those wouldn't look as good with red on top. That isn't a rule. That's an opinion on a specific outfit.
