Has anyone done a John Lewis personal stylist thing?

Or another one? I mention them because they're the only decent big store we have locally now House of Fraser has been ruined.

I'm after the coveted capsule work wardrobe. I'm also basically lazy and not particularly interested in clothes beyond knowing that I like nice fabrics, so I'd quite like someone else to do it for me.

Is it worth trying?

Yes I did it in Oxford street and took a family member to another one, fab both times!

I’ve done it twice and was really pleased both times. I felt like the stylists immediately understood what I was looking for and had a good sense of what would suit me. I did it through Red Letter Days so had a certain amount that had to be spent on the day, but I didn’t feel pressured or anything.

It’s been 50:50 in my experience. I’ve done it three times myself, twice was fab and once OK, and once took someone else along and it was awful, the stylist just didn’t ‘get’ her at all. As it’s free I’d definitely say it’s worth a try.

Yes. I've done it several times and always very happy with the session. You give budget and occasion and they choose clothes for you to try on. So I might say" £500 : promotion at work". My sister had £200 for a wedding outfit.
