How does she get her hair that shiny? Is it fake?

There's an ad about this exact thing and apparently she uses head and shoulders.

Plump82 · 15/10/2019 17:20

There's absolutely no way she achieves hair like that using Head and Shoulders despite what the ad claims. I'm so envious of it though. It's like glass its so shiny!

Idontneeditatall · 15/10/2019 17:21

I always assumed it’s just the dye. When I used to dye my hair v dark it was like silk

SirVixofVixHall · 15/10/2019 17:23

Dark, straight hair shines more than lighter colours or curls. She does have lovely hair !

thisenglishlife · 15/10/2019 17:25

My hair is super shiny - as it's dark and straight/smooth - that definitely helps. My sister has curly blonde hair and it isn't shiny.

They use specialist lighting and buckets load of silicone or shine spray for the look.

You can have glossing treatments done and they help temporarily, as do shine sprays and serums. Going one or two shades darker than your natural hair colour helps too.

Ronia · 15/10/2019 17:25

She did one of those 'in the bathroom' interviews with Sali Hughes and talked about this. She did swear that it was from Head And Shoulders.

SmellMySmellbow · 15/10/2019 17:27

Prob is head and shoulders. Truck loads of silicone in it.

notmytea · 15/10/2019 17:27

There's no way she uses head and shoulders unless she uses it once a month alongside actual good products. h&s leaves so much gross build up

Ronia · 15/10/2019 17:29

Her skincare routine is also non existent. Rarely even bothers telling make up off. Sali was visibly horrified.

AngusThermopyle · 15/10/2019 17:32

Have you honestly never seen that ridiculous shampoo ad she's in? It's been all over the place for ages. Whether true or not i have no idea.

withlotsoflove · 15/10/2019 17:37

It’s the lighting.
I modelled for years. I have curly / non curly hair!
Not in the ads l made though! Wink

withlotsoflove · 15/10/2019 17:37

/ non *shiny hair

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 15/10/2019 17:49

When I used Pantene as a teenager I had v shiny hair - that stuff was full of silicone too.

JMAngel1 · 15/10/2019 18:05

Never mind her hair, what about her outfits on strictly the last three episodes - she is KILLING it and makes Tess look like a clown playing dress up. She just oozes style.

PennyNotSoWise · 15/10/2019 18:29

Grin Every single time the H&S ad comes on, my old dad goes "That's a WIG!" Proper enrages him, bless.

I doubt she uses H&S. Isn't it actually a good shampoo if you have a hair dye disaster, to strip some of the colour a little bit? At least that's what I was told when my my hairdresser gave me bright yellow and orange highlights years back Grin If it can fade dye, I doubt it's going to be really healthy for your hair...

Toddlerteaplease · 15/10/2019 19:03

Omg that advert totally gives the rage!

flashbac · 15/10/2019 20:44

It's not head and shoulders. That's total bull lol. Is it a Brazilian blow dry maybe?

OP posts:
PaulHollywoodsleftbollockhair · 15/10/2019 21:02

I thought it was a wig. You can't really see her scalp according to my MIL which is a dead give away.

She was back to the dead lips look this week- the red looks so much better.

OldAndWornOut · 15/10/2019 21:04

Maybe she has some sort of spray in glosser?
Her hair is probably greasy and stuck to her head a few hours later.

I'd like to think so, anyway.

CorCordium · 16/10/2019 00:00

She always says Head & Shoulders but I agree, it’s hard to believe.

I love her style though. And her brain!

PanicInAmerica · 16/10/2019 00:02

You are either born with shiny hair like that, or you’re not. Those who do have it, have hair with flatter cuticles that reflect the light. There is literally nothing you can do about it either way.

IamPickleRick · 16/10/2019 00:03

I had hair like that before it went grey. I didn’t do anything, dark almost black hair does have a lot of shine.

PanicInAmerica · 16/10/2019 00:04

And yes, as a PP says, the photographer uses lighting to reflect off the hair in a certain way. But the photographer can only do this if you are born with shiny hair in the first place!

IamPickleRick · 16/10/2019 00:04

Head and shoulders conditioner is a good one though I’ve found.

IamPickleRick · 16/10/2019 00:08

And I used to use vosene shampoo too... I only don’t now because you can’t find it so easily!
