As above, where's it gone?

It's the powder foundation I'm looking for, it was everywhere a couple of years ago, I've just gone to buy more and can't find it!

Help!

Is there a similar brand I can use? It really suited my skin Sad

Is it balance and brighten baked foundation you're trying to find?

Have you looked on QVC's website?

shartymcfarty · 15/10/2019 09:37

I have yes, they only have the dark version, all others are sold out.

It's been like that for several months now, looks like no new stock coming in

I had a sample pot of this and loved it and have been unable to get any more. My teen DD - thoroughly in the know - dragged me into Mac as they do something similar - powder foundation but it's not as good (IMHO). Might be worth a look for you?

And sorry should have said, whilst it's not quite as good, it's ok!

DonKeyshot · 15/10/2019 10:01

What shade are you looking for? I may have a new and unused light somewhere.

Is Bareminerals anything like Laura Geller's baked range?

PrestonNotHeston · 15/10/2019 10:12

I think the problem's further up the chain - Laura Geller and Julep were bought out by an investment group a couple of years ago, but it ran into problems and folded, and was taken over by another investor. I don't know what's happening with either brand now, but after a big launch on QVC for Julep, they've remaindered all stock, and ominously Laura Geller's starting to turn up in TK Maxx.

shartymcfarty · 15/10/2019 10:17

It's the fair or light shade I'm looking for, haven't found anything quite like it. This always happens when I find something I really like, it vanishes off the planet Sad

Have you tried House of Fraser/Debenhams? They used to stock LG and sometimes have it in the sale section.

DonKeyshot · 10/11/2019 12:50

Balance-n-Brighten is back in stock on the QVC website but only in supersize £36.00 or 2 easypays of £18 + £1.95 p&p.

Fair and medium has already sold out but porcelain, light, golden medium, tan, and deep are available at the time of writing.

Sparklyring · 10/11/2019 13:00

I started an identical post the other day, the parent company have filed for bankruptcy. I wear fair but have just bought light in supersize from QVC. If the colour works I'll be stocking up as its much absolute go to product

DonKeyshot · 10/11/2019 15:07

Apologies, Sparkly, I didn't look for your post as I was on this one.

i'm wondering if Laura Geller will buy her name back and return to the cosmetic world, but she's most probably happy to be retired having made a mint through her business and selling it.

DonKeyshot · 10/11/2019 16:22

I've just seen that the Simply Be website has BnB in fair £26.00 + p&p or free if you spend more than £40.00. Not sure what size that is, but I think you'll find light will suit you, Sparkly.

magbob · 10/11/2019 18:35

I use fair but I could just about get away with light during the summer. I'm sitting on my hands to stop myself from getting it from Simply Be because I've weaned myself off it! I'm making myself use up various liquid foundations!

DonKeyshot · 10/11/2019 19:04

Putting 'Laura Geller Fair' in eBay's search engine produced 57 results, many of them for Balance-n-Brighten.

Simply Be has 3 pages of LG products and many of them are liquid foundations. I can remember Laura herself introducing a liquid foundation on one of her QVC shows, but I thought it was a rarity and didn't realise the extent of the liquid range. Maybe the new/defunct owners saw more profit in liquid than baked?

I'm waiting for the Mally TSV midnight Tuesday (preview 9pm). Mally hasn't made an appearance for a while and I'm wondering if her range is going the same way as LG.

The fair or light shades always disappear first at QVC! I like the balance and glow I think it is called.

Deathraystare · 12/11/2019 18:03

They sell it in my Debenhams (Westfield) but the stand is shockingly empty of stuff and not well kept.

Sparklyring · 12/11/2019 18:23

@DonKeyshot Oh thank you I'll have a look!

DonKeyshot · 12/11/2019 23:35

Mally's back! She is loud and sassy larger than life but I like her. I bought her TSV at tonight's 9pm preview. The supersize primer is great value and her eyeshadows are bulletproof. Add foundation and mascara and it's a good set for just under £40 inc p&p.
