Anyone got a similar cut? Is it easy to style ‘up’ and down?

I’m not kidding, I’m coveting it. I currently have long straggly looking hair and it is thinning at the sides - hence wondering if just shaving it there would be better?

I’m not beautiful or slim though. I do have cheekbones but not much else. And a bit of a mucky silver vixen. Is it a look for the likes of me? Or would hairdressers steer me well clear?

I think it helps to be slim and pretty for it but if your hair grows quickly but give it a go.

Thank you for your honesty @MikeUniformMike Smile

I thought as much. When I put oldish into the mix as well, it isn’t sounding good...

I shall just look at it and admire from afar. Smile

I am old! Very late forties 54 and had a gentler version of that cut last time I went to the hairdresser.

More swoosh at the long side and slightly longer over the shaved part, but will definitely be braver next time I go, it's grown out fast and is looking a bit too sharp bob, rather than asymmetric undercut

I never do anything with my hair though...wash, condition if it feels staticky, towel dry and comb through. It's very fine, lots of silver in it and completely dye free.

have a look on pinterest, there's lots on there and often you have all the views (back, front and both sides) and not just the one sultry gazing off into the distance that you get in so many magazines/blogs

Get it done.
You might want to wear a bit of make up though if you don't normally.
A good hairdresser will advise you.
Are you happy with how you look with your hair scraped back into a ponytail. If you are then it will be fine.
My hair grows very slowly so I wouldn't be brave enough.

Thank you both for your input.

Will have a look and will see if my little nephew can superimpose my face onto some style pics (halloween is coming up - he’ll be delighted doing my face in green or something)

Very very near the new late forties age Grin but the sweepy up look is probably not doing my sad little side bits much good. Yours sounds fab @MsMightyTitanAndHerTroubadours
And you are lucky that it grows quick.

I will have a good look on Pinterest etc and hopefully will be inspired.

(If I did a sultry look into the distance, It would probably look as though it was a mugshot - complete with suspicious little lazy eye!)

It will need cherchez le brutally honest hairdresser if I think I can do it.

Thanks again Smile

What’s your face shape like? I didn’t think similar would work for me (mine is shorter than hers is on top but it’s a similar idea with shaved back and sides). My hairdresser said it’s about the shape of your face and features, not how old or slim you may be. My face is heart shaped with high cheekbones and big eyes and since I’ve had it cut everyone has said how much it suits me compared to my longer hair (apart from the one colleague who can’t bring herself to say anything nice to anyone!).

So go have a chat and be brave!

There are loads of great short hair styles and this is not one of them.

I think she looks awful with this latest offering and the bleached stuff just looks manky.

Seriously she is a nice looking woman but this style does NOTHING for her- quite the reverse.

Avoid.

A lot of women look great with short hair- Charlize Theron for one. However- she really does, to my mind, look better with her hair long and dark...

It's a bit Peaky Blinders for me (and I have this cut so I'm not afraid of the clippers).
