Has anyone ever dyed a cashmere jumper?

Hello. I've bought a cashmere jumper on eBay. It's Brora, so should be good quality, and I couldn't have justified the price for a new one.... but it's not a colour I love or often wear.

It's a light brown/beige colour (I'm attaching a picture), do you think it might be possible to hand dye it a dark green or dark purple?

I absolutely don't want to ruin it. If you've successfully dyed cashmere please share your tips and wisdom with me.

I have with Dylan hand dye. But I usually just try and go or tone or two darker than the original colour because the stitching probably won't take the dye, even on Brora.
The dye also reacts with the colour of the jumper e.g blue dye on red would give you purple so you can never be quite sure what colour you'll end up with.

Just don’t. Don’t buy something you don’t like. Cashmere at Marks is decent and not pricy. Ask for a piece for Christmas.
