Pinafore dress help please

I haven't bought new clothes in years apart from bras, so a bit clueless but would really like a pinafore dress, black, not denim or cord and not a very short one. Does such a thing exist? I'm 5'2" and usually around a size 10, prefer things that come to at least knee length or a little lower. All my search results so far are denim, cord or mini length!

It's expensive, but Toast's pinafore dresses are superb quality and they do one which isn't denim or cord (I have it in denim and love it) here.

@Zinnia - I love this. Can it be worn in summer without a top under it? Or would there be a side boob problem? I’m not bothered if there is a little showing but don’t want to go over the top. No pun intended!

Sorry for the late reply! I don't think I'd wear mine with nothing underneath as the sides are cut too low - but I've not looked at the current season's version closely enough to tell if it's the same. Hard to see from the photos too. Sorry!

Sainsbury's have loads and in different styles

Thank you, it is lovely but a bit over budget for me, will check Sainsburys though, just really like the idea of layering up for winter, and the fact that they can be dressed up or down really easily.

The Sainsbury's ones are about £20-£28. They do a petite range as well.
There's a petite size thread that is current.

I have one from Joanie clothing that probably fits the bill- might be worth a look on there. I never wear it though as I feel like a toddler when I have it on! On other people I think they can look cute and/or stylish but I can't get over the mental block.
