What do we think to these?

Boots from Zara, the nicest pair I have seen on a budget (£30). I really like them but the heel isn't very me...what do we think?! I want a pair I can wear with black tights and dresses and these seem a bit nicer than the big standard flat ones?

What do we think to these?

Blergh, but i don't like Chelsea boots...

Basil90 · 11/10/2019 20:15

Meh

CuntyBumpkin · 11/10/2019 20:16

I really like Chelsea boots with dresses.

It probably looks mumsy but I'm not a mum and I don't care 😂

managedmis · 11/10/2019 20:17

I do like them but for me they wouldn't be high enough to wear with dresses

ThisIsTheThirdTime · 11/10/2019 20:20

I'm a bit concerned my ankles will be too fat for them but will have to try them and see. I'm very late to the Chelsea boot game, always liked them on other people but never felt able to wear them myself!

I think Chelsea. Lots look good with jeans and trousers. I think dresses suit more of a combat boot. It's the contrast.

Victoria1083 · 11/10/2019 21:00

I think they are great. I have ‘strong’ calves and I would wear them with a shorter, more flared skirts (as opposed to pencil style) or dresses to even things out a bit

missyB1 · 11/10/2019 21:07

I have worn Chelsea boots with dresses but I do think a slightly higher heel works better. M&S have got some nice black suede block heel ankle boots I’m thinking of ordering.

Musicforsnorks · 11/10/2019 21:15

I think heeled boots look more dated to be honest. These are in between, they’re like the DM flora, I like them. But at 30 quid are they leather?

I’m not a mum but find mumsy offensive. It’s another word for dated I presume.

treeofwhispers · 11/10/2019 22:05

Got some in Asda, like that, but without the gold bar (good for me, I have a lot of silver jewellery and my leather jacket has silver zips) for £12. Smile

treeofwhispers · 11/10/2019 22:07

But pleased with mine. Don't look dated. Regularly watch young things do fashion vlogs on YouTube etc. Not out of place. Tbh if it's still selling it's not out of fashion!

ineedanotherholiday · 11/10/2019 22:16

They're very similar to my Kurt Geiger pair which I love. So easy to wear with jeans, dresses, skirts etc.

ThisIsTheThirdTime · 11/10/2019 22:19

They are arriving tomorrow so will definitely try them on with outfits! I highly doubt they are real leather. I usually try Asda etc but they never have my size in stock. The shoes always look like they have been raided!

Probably have!Grin

ThisIsTheThirdTime · 12/10/2019 14:45

So they have arrived and are so lovely! Comfy too, which was a surprise!

I haven't decided whether to keep them yet...I'm size 7 and 5ft5 so tend to suffer from "massive" feet...tried them with skinnies and a dress and my feet look big. But this is a problem I'm not sure I can be arsed to worry about any longer. My feet are big compared with my height. It's something I can do nothing about! So I will sit on them for a few days...

OP, is the boot comfortable at the top? I don't know how to explain it but I have a pair of Chelsea boots that are so stiff my skin gets rubbed raw around the top of the boot, so I can only wear with socks. They are leather. I have another pair that are man made and they are comfortable around the top so can be worn showing the ankle. I like the look of these so eased wondering if they can be worn without ankle protecting socks!

ThisIsTheThirdTime · 12/10/2019 20:14

Well in my limited use of trotting round the house, yes the top feels comfortable Smile
