Shoe storage?

I have lots of footwear, mainly high street trainers, heels and boots. (Nothing designer). I used to be really into fashion so I literally have at least 100 pairs.

Definitely struggling to store them all, how do you store yours to prevent your home from looking cluttered? Of course I’m going to downsize and either donate the good stuff and throw away anything tatty.

Sell what is in decent condition and a desirable brand and style.
Anything a bit tatty put in a shoe bank or give to a charity shop.

I have an ottoman bed, and all my shoes are kept in the boxes under there. My dad installed an IKEA wardrobe as a cupboard in the hall for shoes and coats I wear more regularly, and also use the bottom of my wardrobe.

This makes it seem like I have too many shoes now 😂

My DH made a storage/display unit that runs the full length of one wall. Like pigeon holes. It keeps them tidy and I can easily see them when I want to choose.

Far better than when they we all stuffed in a cupboard.
