Neighbor has just popped a catalogue through the door but I’ve not thought about Avon for years.

I wouldn’t mind supporting her trying to make a bit of extra cash if there is any good products.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Some of the mascaras are good. There is one called super shock or something - definitely has shock in the title. I got the yellow waterprrof one in navy. I am not fond of the brush - a bit harsh but the stuff stays on my lashes (in this weather!). Some people rate the duo eye cream. I like the gold mask.

Also I like the Glimmerstick eye liner pencils.

I also have to say that in the past I have bought bras from them and liked them.

I cannot really recommend the perfumes. In the 70's they had some really good ones that were a bit 'different' but now going down same route as everyone else with watery very sweet shite. I have one in soft musk but apart from that - not now. I really miss Occur. Of course if you like watery nothing you may like the perfumes!

I support a friend occasionally with it (yes I know it's MLM but thankfully she doesn't hard sell!) They do a 400ml yoghurt&honey body lotion for £2.50 and it smells yum. Nice lotion too. The liquid hand soaps are a total bargain at £1 and smell gorgeous too.

The new lipstick is very good. The 16 hour one.

Northernsoullover · 11/10/2019 16:16

Oh and an eyeliner that is a powder.

Spied · 11/10/2019 16:17

I like the PJ's. Really good quality and value.
I like the large bubble baths ( 500ml or litre bottles- can't remember what they call them)
Planet spa oils are nice.
I find a lot of the lipsticks are very similar despite the colour chart and don't rate them.
Nail varnish (inc. colour trend look great in brochure but take ages to dry and peel and chip)

Forgot to say the skin so soft dry oil spray for bodies - in the original woody fragrance is lovely.

And like Spied I do not like the lipsticks.

Thanks all Smile

I like the matt lipstick, the one that's a Mac dupe. Also, though generally not a fan of their perfumes, really like the Chocolate Soft Musk one.

Babymamamama · 11/10/2019 17:30

Avon skin so soft original.... best mosquito repellent ever. It always comes in holiday with me. No idea about anything else.

PleaseHelpM3 · 11/10/2019 17:39

Hey, I'm an Avon lady. My best sellers are skin so soft dry oil spray, glimmersticks, mark lipstick, planet spa sleep spray and probably the Anew skin care.

Enjoy

I just find it hard to buy a scent from a catalogue. How can you not end up buying a nightmare scent??

I did use to like their body lotions though and shower creams.

Smashtastick · 11/10/2019 19:03

Planet spa lavender sleep spray (I call it mummy magic spray, a couple of spritzes and the mood of grumpy DC improves like magic)
Their skincare range is lovely, lots of choice. I use the anew range cleansing balm and exfoliator followed by their tinted moisturiser, I can't go without it!
I don't wear much makeup but the bits I have bought are really nice quality.
Had a few sets of pajamas again lovely quality.

Ethelswith · 11/10/2019 19:12

I really like the Magix primer (though I know some people find it heavy)

The nail varnishes are all good

And the best buy of all is the huge bottles of bubble bath, which smell wonderful

I used to stock up on things like sunscreen and hair detangling spray from them too.

Cheap and cheerful in the main, but some of the stuff is surprisingly good.

Bluesheep8 · 12/10/2019 08:22

The huge bubble baths-white Lily is my favourite, glimmerstick eyeliners-budge proof and timeless perfume.

LittleFriendSusan · 12/10/2019 10:27

Agree with PP on the Glimmersticks eyeliners, 1 litre bubble bath & lavender pillow spray.

I like the ANEW duo eye cream but found one half always ran out before the other. Liked the ANEW infinite effects duo cream thing too, but found a lot of the creams too heavy / perfumed for me (sensitive skin / prone to breakouts).

The nail varnish is v good for the price - there's usually some sort of offer on. Not keen on the foundations, I have tried a few over the years and all seemed to oxidise on me / texture not great.

Re. perfume - I buy Viva la Vita when on offer. It's probably the perfume I've had most people ask about! I wear it for work a lot.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 02/12/2019 09:45

Sure ive said this on another thread, but I really like the cheap and cheerful chocolate musk perfume, for everyday, not going out or date night wear.
