Where can I buy children's clothes in my size???

Sort of joking, but I love my DD's wardrobe. She is a very stylish 4yo, I must say Smile.
I love all the bright colours, comfy swing dresses in sustainable, natural fibres, cosy wool tights, fun printed leggings, jumper dresses and dungarees

Does anyone make these things for grown women? When I go into shops in my home town, (which I have to admit is not the best place to shop, so maybe I'm missing out on something obvious), it's all tailoring, pointy shoes and Fat Face.

I know dungarees are everywhere, but I really wish there was a shop which just sold children's clothes in adult sizes.

Thinking about it, men's and boys' clothes seem to be mainly interchangeable apart from the size 🤔.

Does anywhere do something like this for women? Smile.

Following because I really want a coat with ears on the hood.

MariahDontCarey · 11/10/2019 09:49

Oh... I think I do too, now you've said it Bear.

No help but I’ve often thought the same! In particular I’d love some stripy tights and a hoody with furry lining, also trainers with flashy lights & comfy jersey dresses, also in rainbow stripes & bright colours! Only thing in reality is that at nearly 50 and a 6’ tall size 14 think I might get a few raised eyebrows if I dressed like a 4 year old (but actually don’t care that much so if anyone can tell us I’m in!)...

Darkrainbow · 11/10/2019 09:51

Frugi & Duns of Sweden have adult lines. Slugs and snails for patterned tights/socks.

MariahDontCarey · 11/10/2019 09:53

chips, I'm 5'8" and a 12/14, so probably would look totally ridiculous too! Don't care at all. Ha Grin!

Thanks rainbow! I'll have a look.

Depends what size you are? Next goes up to age 16 and H&m go up to 14 :)

Maybe you need specialist shops, the Japanese style can be childlike but again, the sizing might not suit a larger person.

Artesia · 11/10/2019 09:55

Isn’t that pretty much what Boden sells??

Nanasueathome · 11/10/2019 09:57

Gudrun Sjoden is quite quirky and bright

MariahDontCarey · 11/10/2019 09:58

Is it Artesia??? If so, I'm sold. I never go into Boden as I thought it was supposed to be a bit frumpy? Maybe I am frumpy... I'm definitely becoming a LOT more interested in comfort over style these days. Am I descending into frumpdom? Is this the beginning?

Same here. I also think it's unfair that all the beautiful cheerful clothes start to disappear slowly from mainstream shops when DCs get to 5 years and gradually get introduced to boring crap. Hence, boring adult clothes!

neddle · 11/10/2019 09:59

You all need to check out small businesses that sell handmade clothing.

MariahDontCarey · 11/10/2019 09:59

I was a bigger size at age 16 than I am now, so maybe Next? Although maybe they only cater for slim teens...

A lot of of the White Stuff tunics look like grown-up toddler to me.

MikeUniformMike · 11/10/2019 10:24

Post photos of what your daughter wears and someone will know of something similar.

WaxOnFeckOff · 11/10/2019 10:25

I have no experience of the girls sizing in Next, but recently noticed that my 6'2 large man sized 18 year old son is still wearing age 15 to 16 next underwear that I swear he's had since about age 14 :)

MikeUniformMike · 11/10/2019 10:25

Lucy & Yak do romper style dungarees.
Run & Fly do kiddy-style prints.

WaxOnFeckOff · 11/10/2019 10:27

I recently interviewed a guy in a professional sense and he turned up in a hoody with a cat print all over it, somewhere must sell this stuff.

milliefiori · 11/10/2019 10:33

Look at Ylva leggings by Gudrun Sjolden - as well as some of her bright jersey dresses.

I too think Whiote stuff and Monsoon might have a fair amount of things you;re lookng for. And Joules (wellies with wild hares on. DH begged me not to buy them. I still regret listening to him. Grin)

Bobo Choses are a gorgeous (sustainable and ethical) kids label who also make adult sizes!

Frugi, Duns Sweden, moromini, pretty sure Maxomorra did an adults range this season. I’m 5’8” and size 8 and fit the biggest kids size of Duns pretty well so if you’re slim it’s cheaper than buying the adults sizes

unweavedrainbow · 11/10/2019 11:53

Popsy for fun dresses in bright patterns. TPF Faerie Wear for rainbow stripes, cat ears and soft fleece. Snag for bright tights. Life is good for soft cotton T-shirts with fun graphics-they’re American but do ship to the UK. Little Blue House for children’s pyjamas in adult sizes. Dogo and Elephantsity for fun shoes- and many children’s shoe ranges go up to an adult size 5/6. Other than that, bright cord skirts and pinafores are currently fashionable. Knitwear wise I knit my own; there’s so much beautiful wool available right now, much softer and more comfortable than anything currently available to buy ready made, so I would either learn or get someone else to knit it for me Grin. Etsy is always worth checking out too, I have some lovely one offs from there. I’m currently loving this sellers stuff.

I got a age 12 jumper in John Lewis last week, own brand.

MariahDontCarey · 11/10/2019 14:38

@CottonSock

What size are you normally please? Do you think JL teen clothes would fit a size 12..?
