Can I get a Mulberry bag for £350?

A big birthday is coming up for my sister and she's always wanted a Mulberry bag. If my immediate family and I put some money together, we'd be able to spend £350, but bags seem to start from about £495. I was thinking about going to the Outlet in Bicester but thats an hour and a half drive away from me and I don't want to waste my time if there will be nothing in my price range.
I am looking for something classic and simple. Maybe a small black bag with a long strap to go over the shoulder (not a clutch).
Do you think going to Bicester is worth my time? Will they have anything there for £350? Do Mulberry's ever go in the sale?
Thanks!

I don't think so sorry, I was there this weekend.

I think there might have been the type of bags you're after but I'm sure they were 400 and something.

They had some large tote style bags for 395 in quite nice colours!

Mulberry do a good sale after Christmas but you need to be quick!

Mulberry has sales at the usual times.

Is she fixated on names? You could get a beautiful non Mulberry bag for that amount, and given that their quality has fallen, better quality too.

Join a Facebook mulberry group and buy a good, verified, lightly used bag. Exclusively Mulberry is one I recommend. But there are at least half a dozen.the admin on these groups won’t let anyone sell anything that’s not genuine and people have to be very honest. I have had some real bargains over the years.

You could get a preloved one. I sold a mulberry mitzy for around £300 in good condition and with dustbag. Mulberry alexas also go for around your budget.

I've bought from here before, not mulberry but great service and a bargain!

CatFlower · 09/10/2019 11:05

She's always said Mulberry is her dream bag, so I'd love to get one!

I'd be worried about getting one second hand because I am absolutely clueless about designers and wouldn't be able to tell if something isn't genuine!

I'll check out Exclusively Mulberry, thanks!

I know they are used but I’ve seen some really nice ones on Facebook Marketplace and Ebay. Can I also say what a lovely sister you are, my sister only ever gets me chocolates for my birthdays, bless her.

Abraid2 · 09/10/2019 11:43

As I explained, the best FB group like Exclusively Mulberry will protect you from getting a fake. They will vet listings.

CatFlower · 09/10/2019 11:43

Haha thanks :) because its a 'significant' birthday, I wanted to get her something extra special!

If you are in the NW of England there is a Mulberry shop at MacArthur Glen Outlet Village in Ellesmere Port. You will get something for £350. It might be previous season though and colours are sometimes limited.

CatFlower · 09/10/2019 12:29

Unfortunately, I'm in London! But thanks for the tip!

I know it’s not the same but they have some lovely purses in the Bicester outlet, nice large ones and quite a bit of selection. Starting at around £200.

ChilliMayo · 09/10/2019 12:48

'From Bond Street to Your Street', which is a small shop in Cranbrook Kent, often has pre-owned Mulberry's in, complete with dust bags etc. She is very meticulous about condition. She has a FB page where you can get an idea of what she has. Might be worth giving her a ring to see what she's got in, if you think pre-owned might be an option.

If you're buying from eBay, you can post a link to the auction on The Purse Forum Mulberry authentication thread and they'll let you know whether it's genuine or not. You could also have a look on Naughtipidgin's Nest.

I've just bought a beautiful and genuine Mulberry Rosemary for £150 so it can definitely be done!

Gruntvsgunt · 09/10/2019 22:15

Keep an eye on ‘brandalley’ as well, they often have Mulberry discounted x

I'm selling a black Dorset Tote on eBay. I'm guessing I can't post the link on here.

linentowel · 09/10/2019 22:28

There are at least half a dozen selling pages on Facebook. Try there.

NoNameNoGame · 31/10/2019 18:38

I'm on the FB group for Mulberry Bags and am selling a Dorset Black Tote.
